Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 20, 2025May 20, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 FLYING FELIX (4) is knocking loudly on the door and looks hard to beat here, the race lacks a little bit of overall depth, and this horse is coming on nicely through the start of his career and deserves a win, go close. THE SWINDLER (5) has ability, comes into this fresh from an awkward draw but wouldn’t surprise to see her in the money. ZIGGY VERMEER (2) has a nice draw and some early speed, was mixing form before a little freshen up. CHRISTOPHANO (3) was decent on return and should be further improved again. THE BIG KABOOSH (8) hit the line well last run but it’s a tough draw to overcome. IWILL NEVER KNOW (11) a novelty chance, prefer him off the front row. Tips: 4 5 2 3 Suggested Bet: FLYING FELIX (4) to win. Race 2 ROAD CLOSURE (2) has come back without much luck but has caught they eye on both occasions, has the nice draw and has options and does look dangerous in this race. VALHALLA MISS (1) hit the line well last run and can lead and run a bold race. LADY DELA HOYA (9) has plenty of early speed and can put herself into a good position, even if she doesn’t lead, she can run well. KEAYANG JIGSAW (3) mixing his form but prefers it on the rail and can get across into a decent position. ROCKIN THE TREND (6) next best. Tips: 2 1 9 3 Suggested Bet: ROAD CLOSURE (2) to win. Race 3 TORREVEAN PINKY (2) has good early speed and looks the leader, the overall race lacks a true breeze horse and therefore could get a nice easy lead and easy time of it out in front, go close in this. ZUEDE (11) will be running home strongly. PENTHOUSE (1) lacks early speed but is racing in consistent form recently and can run into the money. DON’T GOIN THEWATER (3) should be close enough to the speed and a novelty chance. BAZZA MAC (5) in the same boat. Awkward draws for PACIFIC EAGLE (6) and HES THUNDER (12) but both capable of earning if things fall their way. Tips: 2 11 1 3 Suggested Bet: TORREVEAN PINKY (2) to win. Race 4 FRANKIE J HOLDEN (2) returns off nearly a month’s break and his form was superb before his freshen up, looks the likely leader and is a rolling type and will go very close from the draw. ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (1) has the perfect draw and loves sitting close to the speed, should be in the money. ROX THE WORLD (8) is racing well and has the high speed to negate the draw and where he could settle. ALTA ALLURE (6) drops in grade but needs to sit in and her high speed is perfect for this grade. Most of the others have back end of first 4 claims at their best. Tips: 2 1 6 8 Suggested Bet: ROLLINDOWNTHERIVER (1) to place. Race 5 Open race. JUSTLIKE TURBO (7) needs some luck from the draw, but the price is right to have a look at him who has come back in decent form and will run well again here. LUKES MISTAKE (11) faces a rise in overall grade since returning to form, is short enough for a horse who can lack tactical speed, winning chance if he can find a solid position. EN PARIANT SUR (8) second up and did some work first up, tough draw to overcome and still trying to get a gauge on him. SPORTING GRACE (2) rises in distance and can be seen in the finish. JOHNNY LOMBO (5) is a novelty chance along with stablemate AMERICAN MONARCH (12). Tips: 7 11 8 2 Suggested Bet: JUSTLIKE TURBO (7) each way. Race 6 FRANKIE MAJOR (5) hit the line strongly last run and put the writing on the wall for a strong performance in this. GEE SMITH (9) is racing well and is suited again, should be hard to beat. AWAITINGINSTRUCTIONS (7) is always a chance under standing start conditions, winning chance with even luck. JILL MACH (2) can improve after a freshen up and her form prior to that was strong, she always goes around a big value for novelty contention. LONESTAR WARRIOR (3) is now under the care of Aiden De Campo, must be respected. Tips: 5 9 7 2 Suggested Bet: FRANKIE MAJOR (5) to win. Race 7 JAMIE KIM (1) has the nice draw and looks a major player and a potential chance to lead and have them chasing. BLUE BLAZER (4) trialled up soundly and can win this first up, looks one of the main dangers. SWEET DUNCAN (3) creates interest first up for Stuart McDonald and can run a better race here, keep safe. BIG BOZZ (2) has drawn to get a good run and is a novelty chance. Looks harder for the outside brigade. Tips: 1 4 3 2 Suggested Bet: JAMIE KIM (1) to win. Race 8 PHILTHEJUG (1) has the speed and draw to lead and go very close again, is in good form and doesn’t appear to be much pressure throughout, gets her chance again. HURRICANEHOPE (2) should jump to her back and get the run of the race, will be a strong place chance with some winning claims. VYBRANT (4) will get a soft run and can run on strongly, novelty chance. SHEHADI (3) not at her best but this grade suits to improve, keep safe. GO HOME JO (5) racing well but pace might not suit her chances tonight. Tips: 1 2 4 3 Suggested Bet: PHILTHEJUG (1) to win. Race 9 DAMAGE DONE (5) has good early speed and he has elevated in recent runs and should run a good race in this. AZIONE (2) is an improver from the draw, should settle close enough to them. BY GEE BY JINGO (6) has shown promise and will run a better race in this grade. CRUNCH THE NUMBERS (4) looks next best but has yet to get back to the better form. Tips: 5 2 6 4 Suggested Bet: DAMAGE DONE (5) to win. Market Market
