Matt Young’s Saturday Narrogin Preview Posted on May 3, 2025May 5, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 COMO EL VIENTO (10) hit the line powerfully in metro grade last time out and it looks like he’s heading in the right direction, expecting him to go very close here. NOBLE THORONDOR (9) hasn’t had the best of luck since returning but returns to his original stable of Bruce Lovett and looks well placed to go close. PRINCE OF TRIBECA (8) weakened after doing plenty in the early part last run and this looks a more suitable grade to his liking, improver. SHOOBEES DOUBLE (5) can improve but has yet to recapture her best form. Tips: 10 9 8 5 Suggested Bet: COMO EL VIENTO (10) to win. Race 2 DIAMOND DANCE (5) didn’t have a lot of luck last time out and looks better placed here, she can use her speed early and there is a chance she could run to the top and be hard to run down. STEP IT UP (2) has the speed to lead early but normally hands up at the middle distance, therefore she will get a good run and can be dangerous late. GO HOME JO (7) was going to play a part last Saturday when locking wheels, she needs some luck from the draw but is ready to show her best. ALTAIR STAR (6) has been going okay, appears a novelty chance with SWANBOURNE SPUNK (8) who didn’t have the best of luck last time out, yet finished the race off well. Tips: 5 2 7 8 Suggested Bet: DIAMOND DANCE (5) to win. Race 3 MY SWEET ADDICTION (4) looks well placed, she has bumped into a couple of nice ones recently and served it right up to them, can be driven aggressively and should get the win. MAJOR CLASS (10) appears the main danger but won’t get the luxury of leading this week, he is versatile. FOLLOW THEROCKSTAR (1) is improving, has a nice draw and gate speed is a query, looks likely to be close enough and a novelty chance. YOUR GRACE (6) has a wide draw to overcome but was far better last time out. OURFIRSTIMPRESSION (9) can improve. Tips: 4 1 10 6 Suggested Bet: MY SWEET ADDICTION (4) to win. Race 4 PUSHBUTTON ROCK (3) has been racing well and has good early speed, she has been luckless in previous efforts, having to come from back in the field, could get the luxury of leading here and think she will run a big race. SPUDMEISTER (8) trialled up well and could be in for a strong preparation. MORE SASS (9) returned with a good effort and just needs some tempo on. VALHALLA MISS (4) has hit the line well in her most recent effort but the draw makes it tricky and likewise the case for YA BETTOR FOLLOWME (5) who will likely head forward at the start as well. ROAD STAR (1) I have grave concerns on how he will begin from the pole. Tips: 3 8 9 4 Suggested Bet: PUSHBUTTON ROCK (3) each way. Race 5 BETTOR MOVE ALONG (4) looks well placed after a super effort in good time at Pinjarra, he has good early speed and can burn on the lead and if he does find the top, I find it hard seeing him getting run down. ROX THE WORLD (5) looks the main danger, but the draw makes it a bit tricky for him, he has come back well and has good ability. FEELING ACES (1) nicely drawn but isn’t the quickest beginner, can settle close enough and be included in the finish. MAJIC BAY (6) was going to win last time out but ran into bother, he has good closing speed but will need it from the draw. ARIONROCK (10) has been racing well but will find this a touch more challenging from the draw. Tips: 4 10 5 1 Suggested Bet: BETTOR MOVE ALONG (4) to win. Race 6 SOUNDS LIKE FUN (3) bolted in last time out and no reason why the Graeme Waters trained mare can’t go back-to-back, she absorbed pressure in that race and was too good and this looks no harder, should head forward and be hard to run down. ESCAPEFROMREALITY (4) was in that same race and is racing in top order but with the draw disadvantage, makes it hard to see her turning the tables. SKIPPIN CLASS (5) has been gutsy in his last few races, he is a major player but needs luck from the draw. RONA MAY (6) can do the work and likely heads forward and will be there in the thick of it. OUR MUSICAL MOTION (8) will be running on in a better class for her. Tips: 3 5 6 4 Suggested Bet: SOUNDS LIKE FUN (3) to win. Race 7 DOUBLE THE ANTE (5) looks well placed here, should charge forward and lead and now third up into the preparation, he finds his race and should get the job done. FRANKENSTEINSBRIDE (4) on form must be respected, she’s been close recently and a metro win to boot but most likely into the money placings wise. DAISY JONES (8) will be running on well; her best is good enough. GALEOCERDO CUVIER (9) is suited in this grade, but the draw makes it more challenging. TILLY SWIFT (7) had her chance last time out. Tips: 5 7 9 6 Suggested Bet: DOUBLE THE ANTE (5) to win. Market Market
