Matt Young’s Monday Pinjarra Preview Posted on April 21, 2025April 21, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 MAJESTIC GA GA (3) looks well placed on WA debut, this trotter is with the strong Young/Hall Jnr combination and comes across from Victoria with solid form, early speed and good times over the mile, has the advantage over main rivals and looks the one to bet. MRIYA DREAM (4) has been racing in good form, looked to have the job done but weakened late to finish second. Can settle close enough and should run well. QUIGGLEY (9) is my nemesis, he has all the class but mixes his gait, makes him hard to tip but never surprises if he wins. KVINTET HILL (8) hasn’t offered a heap since coming to WA, novelty chance along with SELLUNE (5) who ran well Friday and PEACHEE (7) who performs well at the mile. Tips: 3 9 4 8 Suggested Bet: MAJESTIC GA GA (3) to win. Race 2 Open race. STAPLETON (8) bolted in last time out at this trip, this looks harder from the draw, but he won so well, so it is hard to go against him. COHLIN (4) is not at his best but can improve from the better draw. SUNPATRA (1) has a nice draw and won’t be far away, can improve in this. BEALAWYER (6) is racing well, closed off strongly last time out and will need all that performance to get the job done, ready to win though. FIREPLAY (10) find this much harder with the quick front line. MORISSETTE (2) returns and is speedy but may need this. Hard, hard race. Tips: 8 6 4 1 Suggested Bet: STAPLETON (8) each way. Race 3 SWITCH BLADE (1) did a power of work in his most recent run and never gave up the challenge, has options from the nice draw and looks a strong chance in this. VINNIES STAR (5) likely to have come back a better horse, also likely to be short in the market coming from the Four Diamonds Pacing Stables, forward return wouldn’t surprise. IDEALINCIDER (8) drawn to get a good run and looks a novelty chance. ASHANTI PRINCESS (9) is racing well, needs some luck but likely to be running on strongly at value. PAY HOMAGE (2) consistent but could get shuffled back. JILLIBY MOJITO (6) is improving but faces a tricky draw. Tips: 1 9 5 8 Suggested Bet: SWITCH BLADE (1) each way. Race 4 ERA (6) looks suited here, has blistering early speed and down to the lightning lap, looks a major player in this and I think he can cross and just keep on running. MAJOR DALTON (1) can improve and looks a place chance firstly, with winning claims. MISTER KOPA (7) has turned a corner, he can come from back in the field and hitting the line well. LUKE ATTACK (8) can do some work in his races, and this is a better grade for him. GO HOME JO (4) might not be that well suited to this distance. Tips: 6 1 8 7 Suggested Bet: ERA (6) to win. Race 5 MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (7) looks a nice type, the first up win had nice horse qualities, and I think he can roll forward and this and potentially run to the lead, go close and should be even fitter. LOU LAMOUR (6) has brilliant speed, he is on the backup from a win at Wagin, has options and will run well. ICE COLD SAPPORO (10) comes in with claims on return, looks to have plenty of ability but the draw disadvantage and fitness could come into play. CHARIVARI (12) has options as he is a versatile horse. BOOM IT UP (3) racing well but tricky from the draw, novelty chances at big odds. DUNCAN TWENTYTWO (8) can fall into that category as well with LAST HARD COPY (11) who is first up from a tough draw and might need the run. Tips: 7 10 6 12 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MIKI WHITBY (7) to win. Race 6 IRRESISTIBLE (5) returns and looks to have struck a suitable race, would imagine this horse would’ve benefitted from a break and ready to reload for Team Bond, should run well in this. JILLIBY JAKE (1) has options from the draw, Lachlan Kennelly got him off the arm well last time out and looks a good novelty chance. PUSHBUTTON ROCK (8) is racing well and loves the rails run, so this is ideal. ARIONROCK (6) drops in grade and must be respected in this, may be driven in a more positive manner. ALLWOOD MACH (12) capable, draw hurts though. Tips: 5 8 6 1 Suggested Bet: PUSHBUTTON ROCK (8) to place. Race 7 GILTY BY THE BEACH (3) will have plenty of admirers off the back of a hot trial at Pinjarra behind Soho Moonraker, looks to have speed and appears hard to beat in his WA debut. IM LORD LOGAN (9) is a fast pacer on return, nice trailing draw and must be respected, tempo could suit. MASTER LEIGHTON (1) has the draw, with options and fitness as a kicker, keep him safe. SISTA SAMMY (4) will head forward, she is a much better horse on speed but may have sit parked in this. QUINTON (10) is improving and looks a strong chance with even luck. CAMS BOULDER (11) rises in grade but has come back in tremendous form, appears more of a novelty chance in this but has got the fitness on his side. POCKET THE CHANGE (7) must be mentioned but the draw and being first up make her task increasingly difficult. Tips: 3 9 10 4 Suggested Bet: GILTY BY THE BEACH (3) to win. Race 8 ALTA TRIBUTE (9) returns and just went from strength-to-strength last time in, expecting him to be ready to go coming from the powerful Gary Hall Snr stables. GREATGREAT BOULDER (7) has the fitness and the closing speed to overcome the draw, the tempo looks to be suited, and he will love sprinting on the spacious Pinjarra circuit. HES NEVER BEEN BETA (4) has come back well and can be driven forward, looks a solid chance for a podium finish. RELATIVELY ARMA (1) although up in grade, looks suited from the draw in terms of novelty prospects. WELEASE WODDEWICK (8) can follow the rail on return and PRINCE OF PAIN (3) can sneak into the top 4 outside of his grade because he is that type of horse. Tips: 7 9 1 4 Suggested Bet: GREATGREAT BOULDER (7) to win. Race 9 LEAVE YOUR HAT ON (12) is a bit tricky to try and get a gauge on, this isn’t an easy draw and he’s thrown up a few interesting runs since coming to WA, add that to barrier 12 over a mile and there are a few things against him here, but he must be respected. PHILTHEJUG (1) has a lovely draw and strips fitter, looks a solid place chance. HAVING FUN (6) will be heading forward, disappointing last run but super two starts ago, so hard to get a gauge on as well. SUNDANCER RAINBOW (9) will be closing off well, just needs an element of luck in the run. TIGER LOU (11) not the worst but it’s a tough draw. Include FOLLOW MY STRIDE (10) in novelties, this grade suits her better and might fly under the radar. Tips: 12 1 9 6 Suggested Bet: PHILTHEJUG (1) to place. Market Market
