Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 11, 2025February 11, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 AT THE POINTY END (6) has the draw advantage over his main rivals and is third up into the preparation, both runs back have had plenty of merit and this looks a suitable assignment. ELIZABETH AITCH (9) continues to improve and last run was quite strong, should run well again. KINSAABI (7) has come up short enough, racing well but looks challenged from the draw, strong novelty claims. FOLLOW YOUR MOTHER (8) trialled soundly and can run into the top 4 at odds. Tips: 6 9 7 8 Suggested Bet: AT THE POINTY END (6) to win. Race 2 MANHATTAN MOON (9) is a nice type who won on return, wide draw to overcome but the horse has versatility and should improve again from the first up effort, he looks hard to beat. LORD PUBLISHER (7) has been racing against stronger opposition recently and performing with merit, it’s a tough draw but can do it at both ends if required. SOHO CONFIDENTIAL (5) goes up in grade but has some speed and settle close to the lead, if not be in front, should run a decent race. ALWAYSBFRANK (8) likely heads forward at the start but has been mixing his form. METEOROID (2) can get to the pegs early and has improved recently, can figure in the novelties at value with stable mate LENI ROSE (1). Tips: 9 5 7 2 Suggested Bet: MANHATTAN MOON (9) to win. Race 3 TORPEDO ROCK (5) has been in good form without being able to break through, he looks a strong chance and has the versatility and high speed to overcome the draw. CALLMEWHATUWANT (2) trialled up well before a luckless return run, he will be close enough and looks a strong each way chance. TRAVELBAN (3) has good speed and has been racing strong opposition, one of the major players if he can find the rail. BET ON THE RIVER (1) goes up in grade but has a nice draw to feature in the novelties. FOLLOW ROCKNROLL (4) caught the eye last time out and is value. Tips: 5 2 3 4 Suggested Bet: CALLMEWHATUWANT (2) each way. Race 4 Good competitive event upcoming. MYDADTHETERROR (7) was narrowly beaten last start and stuck it out well, back to the stand and with a safe getaway could work to the top and give them something to catch. HENRIK LARSSON (12) must overcome the 40m handicap, he has returned well and deserves respect. AMERICAN CRUISE (8) was bolting to the line last time out and is now third up into his preparation, has plenty of high speed and I thought was a strong each way chance. A DUKE TO BE (9), MEGA MACH (6) and RODASI (11) all novelty chances. Tips: 8 7 12 9 Suggested Bet: AMERICAN CRUISE (8) each way. Race 5 SPICEY MAJOR (2) has the draw advantage and should charge through to lead and win, last run was a feature victory, and this looks easier. THENU CAME ALONG (4) has been in tremendous form and looks the main danger but unlikely to have the pressure required to overcome the favourite. MAUNGATAHI (3) looks a strong place chance, luckless last run and is racing in fine form. ADDA SPOILT MAJOR (1) returns but bumps into a nice field, might be found out in the last 400m tonight. ROCKNROLL ELLIOT (6) will continue to improve and is a back-end novelty chance with CODENAME MARCUS (8) who is capable. Tips: 2 4 3 6 Suggested Bet: MAUNGATAHI (3) to place. Race 6 RUBY LOU (3) trialled up strongly and that was sustaining a solid run from the rear, she also has strong early speed and can burn to the top here and be very hard to beat on return. TIGER LOU (4) was solid last time out and looms as a major player again. TRIROYALE BRIGADE (6) is going strongly but a bit of a tricky draw for him here. JILLIBY JAKE (1) is a place chance. CHAMBRAY (7) has been a bit off in recent runs but wouldn’t surprise to see her in the money with BETTOR MOVE ALONG (8) who has come up short enough for mine from the wide draw. Tips: 3 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: RUBY LOU (3) to win. Race 7 ARISE LAZARUS (1) gets the perfect draw at the short course and has been racing well, has race fitness on his side and looks hard to run down here. THE RIZZLER (7) comes back on his return run and looks to have ability, wide draw makes things a little bit tougher over the short course. CENT TO KANSAS (8) must overcome a wide draw but keep safe from the stable. STAR OF THE GALAXY (3) is a novelty chance. FLYING FELIX (4) still learning the caper, has shown promise but happy to watch him at this stage. Tips: 1 7 8 3 Suggested Bet: ARISE LAZARUS (1) to win. Race 8 TWILIGHT TANGO (7) returned with an unlucky third last week, his trial was sound, and this looks a suitable grade and being second up we should see an even better version of him. ACOLTNAMEDSU (5) has the draw advantage and can potentially run to the lead and from there should run a bold race. FRANKIE J HOLDEN (8) returns from a wide draw, has promise. HERE COMES SHARKIE (6) closed off well last start and can run into the novelties at big odds with TORREVEAN PINKY (4) who can run into the top 4. Tips: 7 5 8 6 Suggested Bet: TWILIGHT TANGO (7) to win. Market Market
