Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 4, 2025February 4, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 STRIKE MASTER (2) is my on top selection but at the short quote, the price is a bit ridiculous, and you’d like him to be leading at that quote. I do think he can win the race as he will position up close enough but hasn’t won in his last 20 starts. RAMBO RABBIT (1) and GALVISTON JOHN (3) both have good speed and can create some tempo; the latter is racing well and could be cheeky if he led. SIDSTREPO (7) has been racing well and will be storming home, each way. PATH OF GOLD (6) is one that can lurk behind at odds. Tips: 2 7 6 3 Suggested Bet: SIDSTREPO (7) each way. Race 2 VALHALLA MISS (1) has the nice draw and is a good rolling type, the draw and distance suit and she will be dangerous. MISTER LINTON (2) is racing well and is ready to win, the one to beat if he leads, still a major player if he doesn’t lead. JILLIBY JAKE (3) has strong novelty claims from the draw and won’t be far away. SPORT SPORT SPORT (8) could move forward and be prominent early and should be kept safe. MARBEECHSAM (9) can feature even from the wide draw. Tips: 1 2 3 8 Suggested Bet: VALHALLA MISS (1) to win. Race 3 ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (4) is fourth up into the preparation and his best is very strong, should be reaching peak fitness and has a lot of upside, this is easier than recent races and appears the one to beat. SELLUNE (3) has gone off the boil a touch recently, he is better suited to a mobile and can feature in the finish. ELISH STAR (1) has a lovely draw and presents novelty value at his best. DARK SECRET (5) is a consistent old boy who can get into the novelties. MAJESTIC COURTNEY (7) is a capable trotter but comes in fresh, what ever he does today he will improve on. Tips: 4 3 1 5 Suggested Bet: ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (4) to win Race 4 STAR CASINO (6) came into the Northam Cup fresh and performed well, he had a troubled trip after being dumped three wide from the bell and was only beaten a few metres. That should bring him on nicely and he has a nice record from the stand, he is the one to beat. TRIGWELL ROAD (5) can begin nicely and race forward, he will give them something to catch. SPYGLASS (7) is having his first standing start and steps up in trip after his first two runs in the state have been over the short course, happy to watch him in this. LONESTAR WARRIOR (1) has the handicap advantage and can feature into the novelties. Tips: 6 5 7 1 Suggested Bet: STAR CASINO (6) to win. Race 5 THE KHUKRI (2) has got the better draw and solid form lines coming into today’s race, he continues to improve and appears hard to beat. PINJARRA ROCKS (4) has plenty of speed and could lead and could go close again. HOLD THE AMMO (6) is fitter after the first win and may have to the do the work again here. TWILIGHT TANGO (3) trialled well and has an ideal draw, keep safe for the novelties. Tips: 2 4 6 3 Suggested Bet: THE KHUKRI (2) to win. Race 6 MANHATTAN MOON (5) should be winning on return; he will be short but looks a multi builder. Trialled up behind star mares Water Lou and Wonderful To Fly. He should justify the short quote. VEEFORVICTORY (4) can get forward and looks the obvious exacta selection, form has been consistent. TELKEM JAY (2) caught my eye last start and is going to lob handy to them and looks a top 2-3 player in this. ALL ABOUT AMERICA (3) is next best in my eyes, lacks early speed but can pick a few off and move into the top 4. I think that’s your first 4, it’s just in which order. Tips: 5 4 2 3 Suggested Bet: First 4; 5/4/2/3 OR 5/2,4/2,4/3 Market Market
