Matt Young’s Tuesday Gloucester Park Preview Posted on January 21, 2025January 21, 2025 | Posted by Matt Young Race 1 XPRESS PARTY (8) should return a winner, he is a classy type and should be further improved coming into his 3yo preparation, but he will be a good things price. OH MIKI (1) is improving and has a nice draw to suggest he is the main danger (if there is one). KINSAABI (5) trialled well behind Pinny Tiger and his overall form has been solid, just a tricky draw to overcome. STRIKING A DEAL (2) is a place to novelty chance with CHIEF COPY (7), THE REAL MIKOY (10) and SONGSTER (11). Tips: 8 1 5 2 Suggested Bet: KINSAABI (5) to place. Race 2 VANDERBILT (8) has plenty of talent and comes into this with strings to his bow, he looks to watch things unfold and can make a move whenever he wishes. Appears to be a speedy front line and could mean a quick lead time. BLAZE ON (6) is suited by the class but needs to get a forward position and he will be one of the major players. TAKE A HIKE (1) has the speed to lead early and can pick and choose, he was slightly disappointing when beaten last run but prior form had been solid. MAJOR OVERS (3) would run a bold race if he could find the top. RODASI (4) has been just ok in his last couple but is capable of improvement. RAKERO RAIDER (11) could benefit by a decent lead time and has been racing strongly. Tips: 8 6 11 3 Suggested Bet: RAKERO RAIDER (11) each way. Race 3 PRINCESS KATIE (9) has been racing well and appears to have the depth this time in to be able to overcome the wide draw, she is on the backup from Friday and can sustain her run here. CHAMBRAY (4) is a chance to lead and will run a bold race if she can get there. JACKIE DANIELS (1) has had poor draws recently and racing well, if she can hold up she would run a big race. ALTA ALLURE (11) is a chance but needs to hold up best she can from her position. COURAGE OF LOMBO (2) is a novelty chance. CHAMPAGNE EVERYONE (12) is capable but is coming in first up. Tips: 9 4 1 11 Suggested Bet: PRINCESS KATIE (9) to win. Race 4 JAXON MORGAN (2) can be aggressive early and has plenty of speed, looks a major chance to lead and from there that is where he does his best racing, think he will get the job done today. MAKE IT QUICK (1) has a lovely draw and has options, thought they would take the softer option and get the perfect run. LORD PUBLISHER (10) has come back well and just needs some daylight in the final circuit, could be dangerous. HAVEYOUMETTED (5) is racing well but must overcome a tricky draw. NO NONEY (7) comes in fresh, but the stable had a winner yesterday off similar stats so keep this horse safe. Tips: 2 1 10 5 Suggested Bet: JAXON MORGAN (2) to win. Race 5 WAVERIDER (5) is a classy type, he was superb in defeat last time out and can bully his rivals into submission in this race, very hard to beat. ARIONROCK (1) could give a bold sight in front, he is racing well and looks a top 2 player. LAMANDIER (6) and IDEAL TOMADO (7) are both going to be running home strongly. UNDER THE ALTA (2) has a nice draw and is a novelty chance but just concerned the sectionals might be too slick for him late. Tips: 5 1 6 7 Suggested Bet: WAVERIDER/ARIONROCK to quinella. Race 6 PINJARRA ROCKS (2) has burnt the punters on a few occasions, but he gets another good opportunity here, he has the speed to lead and can run even sections and if Gary Hall Jnr can work with him then he can get the job done. ALWAYS SEA MIKI (1) looks to have ability and has a nice draw, think he could be dangerous. WICKED HUSTLER (3) likely to be improved coming back as a 3yo, keep him safe first up. BOOM IT UP (4) has shown enough at trials to throw him into the back end of your novelties with CIGANDA (7) who has ability but a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 2 1 3 7 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS SEA MIKI (1) each way. Race 7 HOLD YOUR FIRE (1) has the perfect draw, he has had a few chances, but the stable has flown Maddy Young back in from “The Big Apple” to hopefully get the job done. He over raced last time out and from the draw I expect him to lead and run a bottler. BLITZAR (4) looks an improving type and trial was good, had excuses last time out and will be fitter for that run, looks a major player in this. DON DIABLO (2) has a lovely draw and will be close enough. I AM SIAM (5) has shown promise in trials and should be kept safe. PINEAPPLE (3) could improve here, he has mixed his form between trials and races. Tips: 1 4 2 5 Suggested Bet: HOLD YOUR FIRE (1) to win. Market Market
