Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 17, 2024October 17, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 GEE HEZA SPORT (12) crosses the Tasman with a losing sequence of 29 but he has raced in better company than he meets tonight. He is first-up without a trial and has a back line draw to overcome and the betting could be the best guide to his chances. ME FLASH (1) has battled bad draws since he led throughout here in 1.55.0 four starts back and will give a great sight from the pole. FASTER THAN DAD (10) stormed home to win at his last start and can repeat the dose if he has some luck in running. OK BOOMER (3) was an impressive winner in weaker company at his second start in WA and is ready for the rise in class. Tips: 12 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: GEE HEZA SPORT (12) to win. Race 2 SKYLORD (11) resumed with two impressive victories before he couldn’t make ground in a stronger field here last week. He is drawn to enjoy a nice run in the moving line and should be charging home. ROLLING FIRE (4) resumes here and the addition of a hood and Gary Hall Jnr electing to drive him over Hall runners indicates that he should be ready to run a big race. IM THE BLACK FLASH (6) has resumed in top form but has an awkward draw to overcome. LOVE ON THE ROCKS (1) was first-up for over a year here last week and can improve sharply from the pole. Tips: 11 4 6 1 Suggested Bet: SKYLORD (11) each way. Race 3 SKYLOU (3) has been unplaced when fancied at both starts this time in. He hasn’t had the best trip in transit in both events and he looks the one to beat from his nice draw here. FLYING RUMOUR (4) followed three consecutive placings with a well-deserved victory here last week and should fight out the finish again. MISTER MACEDON (1) has been racing well in weaker company and the rise in class tonight is offset by the pole draw. SOLESSEO MATUCA (7) probably has the best form in the event but has a tough draw to overcome. Tips: 3 4 1 7 Suggested Bet: SKYLOU (3) to win. Race 4 STENO (1) is yet to defeat AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (9) but is drawn to lead and looks to get her chance. AARDIEBYTHESEASIDE (9) is undefeated in seven starts since arriving in WA and is the obvious danger despite the draw. STORMYSKYES (10) will be a good place if she can old the back of the polemarker in the early stages. WONDERFUL TO FLY (11) is racing well below her best but will be suited if she can be three back on the pegs. Tips: 1 9 10 11 Suggested Bet: STENO (1) to win. Race 5 CHRISTOPHER DANCE (6) crossed the Tasman with a big reputation and didn’t disappoint when a dominant first-up winner. This is a tougher assignment but he looks a classy customer and is the horse to beat. GOLDEN LODE (2) followed two soft victories in moderate fields with an ultra-impressive win here last week and must be respected on that effort. MENEMSHA (1) hasn’t had much luck this time in but is proven in this company and looks a big improver from the pole. TUALOU (10) was a 1.52.7 winner at his last start and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. Tips: 6 2 1 10 Suggested Bet: GOLDEN LODE (2) each way. Race 6 TRICKY MIKI (1) did things wrong at his first run back from a spell but ran an eye-catching 2nd in a recent Pinjarra trial and should be a sharp improver from the pole tonight. LAVRA JOE (4) drew the backline and didn’t threaten first-up but he is quick beginner who looks a major player here. MACHNIFICENT (6) is first-up but led throughout to defeat TRICKY MIKI (1) in that Pinjarra trial and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. ALCOPONY (5) has been placed in both starts this time in and has the advantage of race fitness over his main rivals. Tips: 1 4 6 5 Suggested Bet: TRICKY MIKI (1) to win. Race 7 LION QUEEN (4) has resumed from a long spell in good form and is clearly the one to beat after her 3rd from the breeze in the WA Oaks. NASE VIRA (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and will be charging home if she sees daylight at the right time. IRRESISTIBLE (2) over-raced when beaten as a short-priced favourite on Monday but must be considered if you can overlook that performance. SOHO HONEY RIDER (12) has been placed in three of her four starts since crossing the Nullabor and can be in the finish if he she gets the right cart into the race. Tips: 4 10 2 12 Suggested Bet: LION QUEEN (4) to win. Race 8 CHIVALRY (5) faced the breeze when a game 2nd to Dominus Factum here last week in quick time and he can work forward and go one better tonight. CHACO EAGLE (1) was a nice 3rd from a wide draw at his first run back from and did lead throughout to defeat the talented Tualou in 1.56.4 before going for a spell. RODASI (10) goes up in class but is racing well and is drawn to be a good place chance. SISTA SAMMY (3) is first-up but can play a part in the finish if she gets the right trip just behind the speed. Tips: 5 1 10 3 Suggested Bet: CHIVALRY (5) to win. Race 9 IDEAL MUSCLE (2) disappointed when he led and was beaten into 4th as a $1.75 favourite in the Battle Of Bunbury but his previous form was solid and the scratching of the polemarker improves his chances. QUINTON (10) is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and can run a race at each way odds. MIKIS PRIDE (5) has been placed at his last two starts behind Alta Tribute and Christopher Dance and drops in class here. PRINCE OF PAIN (11) is a consistent type who can figure with the right run. Tips: 2 10 5 11 Suggested Bet: QUINTON (10) each way. Race 10 SOHO BOLLINGER (6) was off the scene for three years but should be close to his peak at his fourth run back from a spell and has a barrier advantage over his main rivals. ROCKET CITY (7) drops in class and will be suited if there is a solid early tempo. INSTA GATOR (9) has resumed with two impressive victories but will need some luck from out here. OUR MAJOR JACK (1) hit the line nicely here last week and can be placed from the pole. Tips: 6 7 9 1 Suggested Bet: SOHO BOLLINGER (6) to win. Race 11 UNLUCKY (1) is racing consistently and he should give a great sight from the pole draw over the sprint trip. SOHO MOONRAKER (6) has been a beaten favourite at his two runs back from a spell but his last effort had plenty of merit and he should be in the finish. MAJOR FREEWAY (5) trialled well for his new stable and can make his presence felt. COVERNOTE (11) will be suited if there is a solid tempo which looks likely. Tips: 1 6 5 11 Suggested Bet: UNLUCKY (1) to win. Market Market
