Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on September 19, 2024September 19, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 WHISKY ON THE HILL hit the line strongly second up and will appreciate the step up to 2000m. QUANTUM CAT had his chance last start but maps for another good run. RISE TO IT has been set a task chasing strong speeds at his last two and has run well under the circumstances. FLAMIN’ ROMANS and DENMARK have been solid behind Lincoln Rocks recently and that horse ties a bit of this form together. CONVENOR got hr favours to score last start but has a case on his best form. Selections: 15,8,13,14 Suggested Bet: Whisky On The Hill each way Race 2 FEDERER looks highly promising and capable of progressing on to better races. NAILS MURPHY got the right run last start but is fit, consistent and maps for another good run. MISS YOU ELLA was held up at a crucial stage last start. REGAL ZEUS is fit, consistent and will make his own luck. LE ZEBRA had some excuses last start but seems better on rain affected ground. WAIMARE is another that is racing well and can maker her own luck. Selections: 11,2,8,4 Suggested Bet: Federer to win Race 3 POIFECT has been jumping out in great style and brings a solid first up record. SASSY BOOM battled on well after being forced to do some early work in a key lead up race first up. MATRIARCH ROSE didn’t have the clearest passage in that race. QUICKSTER has a touch of class and has been jumping out ok. LOVAZOU appeared to have her chance in that key lead up race but is drawn for another good run. Selections: 3,1,5,6 Suggested Bet: Poifect each way Race 4 SILMARILLION was well placed to score last time but this doesn’t appear any tougher and she gives the impression 1400m will be ok. SAKIMA chased well behind Silmarillion and also gives the impression she’ll cope with 1400m. TOO DARN LIZZIE will give a sight riding the speed. LILACS and DECLICHY BOULEVARD come through the same race in Sydney and there was merit in both their runs. JENNI’S MEADOW has jumped out ok to kick off at a suitable trip. Selections: 1,5,4,7 Suggested Bet: Silmarillion to win Race 5 ANOTHER WIL will be short but overcame difficulties to win impressively first up and looks a coming Group 1 winner. CRAIG (may be saved for a race at Sandown on AFL Grand Final Day next weekend) is another with plenty of upside and will strip fitter for his impressive last start victory. JIMMY THE BEAR is most consistent and should appreciate coming back in trip. WISHLOR LASS and RUN HARRY RUN have both been trialling/jumping out well. Selections: 3,9,7,10 Suggested Bet: Another Wil to win Race 6 REY MAGNERIO has jumped out in terrific style to resume and has a liking for the 1100m trip. COMMEMORATIVE has plenty of upside and will strip fitter for a solid return. JUNGLE JIM and LEMPICKA are two others that have been jumping out well to resume and have claims in an even race. Selections: 12,11,10,9 Suggested Bet: Rey Magnerio each way Same Race Multi: Rey Magnerio (Top 2) + Commemorative (Top 4) Race 7 SAINT GEORGE was most unlucky in a key lead up race and should relish the step up to 2000m. QUE TEMPESTA closed off well in the same race and will also appreciate rising in distance. IMMEDIACY chased well behind Pericles first and is a previous second up winner. JUST FINE will strip fitter third up and looks the likely leader. POSITIVITY also comes through that key lead up race, she’ll also be suited by the rise in trip and maps for a good run. Selections: 15,1,16,2 Suggested Bet: Saint George each way Race 8 PLACE DU CARROUSEL brings a strong first up record and has been jumping out in great style to resume at a suitable trip. PERICLES found the right race last time but will strip fitter third up and has the tactical versatility to offset the draw. BUCKAROO was ridden to advantage to score last time and could see similar tactics employed here. FAWKNER PARK is a is building an impressive record, he’s jumped out ok and if he can translate his clockwise form to racing in this direction, he’s right in the game. COCO SUN did enough first up and will appreciate the rise in distance. Selections: 11,2,8,7 Suggested Bet: Place Du Carrousel each way Race 9 SERGEANT MAJOR and EPIMELES both had excuses in a key lead up race won by ANGEL CAPITAL and all three have strong claims again. WANARUAH has impressed in his three runs to date. He’ll make his own luck and the Autumn Glow form reads well. PUBLIC ATTENTION is likely to appreciate 1400m and is another that didn’t have the best of luck in the Angel Capital race. PRIVATE LIFE won an easier race in good style first up in Sydney and is open to further improvement. Selections: 12,3,2,5 Suggested Bet: Sergeant Major each way Race 10 A LITTLE DEEP won a stakes race in good style last start and Arkansaw Kid franked that form last week. EXTRATWO measured up well against some quality mares last start and around 1200m seems her best trip. RED CARD did enough first up and boasts a strong second up record. MOESHA and ETERNAL FLAME have both been jumping out well to resume and are group class performers. Selections: 6,8,4,15 Suggested Bet: A Little Deep each way Market Market
