Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on August 8, 2024August 8, 2024 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 LIEVORE has returned well, she’ll strip fitter third up and may push forward from that wide draw. WAIMARE is racing in good form, she’s also likely to race forward and prove hard to get past. ROADIE beat Lievore last start and maps for a good run behind the speed. ELECTRIC IMPULSE is better on rain affected ground but is fit and hit the line strongly last start. Selections: 6,5,3,1 Suggested Bet: Lievore each way Race 2 THE SHOWVINIST seems to appreciate being kept at 1000m and has impressed at his last two wins. BLUE STRATUM found a suitable race to break the maiden first up and will strip fitter. IMMORTAL STAR has been competitive against strong opposition, she had excuses last time and has jumped out well to resume. JUST LIKE GABY will be better for an encouraging debut. LAST DRUID has a case. Selections: 3,2,6,8 Suggested Bet: The Showvinist each way Race 3 FLAMIN’ ROMANS hit the line strongly to score second up and looks suited stepping up to 2040m. LINCOLN ROCKS should also appreciate this trip and has claims with any luck from the draw. KIPYEGON will be close to her top and can settle closer from the inside draw. HARD SQUEEZE is in good form and handles this circuit well. MY ROCA FELLA can give a sight if he gains s start. Selections: 12,5,14,3 Suggested Bet: Flamin’ Romans each way Race 4 DASHING DUCHESS ran well in a strong race last start and coming back to 2500m should be no issue with M.Zahra aboard. BRILLIANT VENTURE has settled into the new stable well and looks capable of taking the slight rise in grade. THROUGH IRISH EYES can improve on firmer ground with blinkers back on. DSCHINGIS PRESTIGE, FIRE GLO TOO and DUKE OF HASTINGS have claims in an even contest. Selections: 7,11,1,8 Suggested Bet: Dashing Duchess each way Race 5 MORNINGTON GLORY is a winner here, he’ll appreciate the drop in grade and firmer ground second up. MOONHAVEN sprinted impressively to win an easier race last time and should be suited by what appears to be a strong tempo. SEBONACK will also appreciate a solid tempo and has jumped out ok to resume. ACROMANTULA has trialled up well in W.A. And will give a sight from the inside draw. Selections: 2,7,6,1 Suggested Bet: Mornington Glory to win Race 6 BIG ME ran well at his first run for the new stable and looks hard to beat with additional fitness from a low draw. MACHINIST is racing well and will appreciate dropping in grade and getting back to 1000m. FISSION backs up from a solid run last week and goes well here at this trip. CAVALLO RAMPANTE was disadvantaged by the inside draw last start CHARMED RUN will be strong late. Selections: 12,8,5,15 Suggested Bet: Big Me to win Race 7 SMOKIN’ ROMANS has raced himself into fitness and the form through his last start has held up well. MATHEW is fit, in form and the form through his last start has also been franked. ROLLS will strip fitter for a solid fresh run and can give a sight. ALDER did enough at his local debut and will appreciate the rise in distance. KING MAGNUS got a tick for his first test in this distance range last start. Selections: 2,11,8,10 Suggested Bet: Smokin’ Romans each way Same Race Multi: Smokin’ Romans (Top 2) + Mathew (Top 4) Race 8 REGAL ZEUS sprinted impressively to score last time and will make his own luck. OUR EMPRESS ZOE is another in good form and has the tactical speed to offset the draw. SPARE COIN can improve coming back in distance and swapping winker for blinkers. OCEANS ABOVE chased well behind Spare Coin two starts back, he was poor last start but noted as being uncomfortable between runners. MAGARTEN is fit and consistent. Selections: 4,13,6,12 Suggested Bet: Regal Zeus each way Race 9 WALLENDA is racing in well and the form around him reads well for this. He is capable of holding a spot from the low draw. LEGIO TEN drew the wrong side of the track last start and under the circumstances his run was full of merit. HOME RULE beat Legio Ten home last time and can make his own luck. RANTING gets blinkers back on after a solid return in a stronger race. EXTRATWO has jumped out ok to resume and is a previous first up winner. Selections: 15,8,6,2 Suggested Bet: Wallenda each way Market Market
