Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on April 11, 2024April 11, 2024 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 IDEAL TOMADO (3) led throughout in easier company at his last start and can handle the rise in class if he can find the lead without doing too much work in the early stages. STATE OF HEAVEN (1) is first-up for a new stable but he grows a leg when on the pegs and looks a good each way chance from the pole. IRA POOLE (5) faced the breeze and fought on well when 3rd to Mister Smartee here last week and should make his presence felt again. HES NEVER BEEN BETA (9) has won three on end but will find this harder from out here. Tips: 3 1 5 9 Suggested Bet: STATE OF HEAVEN (1) each way. Race 2 LUSAKA (12) worked hard in the run when a gallant 2nd in quick time here last week and is capable of overcoming the backline draw. EL CHEMA (10) is the other class runner of this event and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. OCTOBER REIGN (3) looks the likely leader and will give a great sight in that role. THREE RUMOURS (9) has had no luck in her recent starts and could surprise at odds with the right cart into the race. Tips: 12 10 3 9 Suggested Bet: LUSAKA (12) to win. Race 3 THE MIKI TAKER (8) has the best form in the event and has the strength to be put into the race when desired. REGAL CHEVAL (4) hasn’t had much luck at his last three starts but he will give a great sight if he can cross at the start tonight. FLYING RUMOUR (6) has disappointed at his last two starts but his previous form was first class and he can bounce back. HECTOR (2) has disappointed this time in but can improve sharply from his nice draw. Tips: 8 4 6 2 Suggested Bet: THE MIKI TAKER (8) each way. Race 4 CATCH A WAVE (11) has won almost $1.3mill in stakemoney and was a 1.52.0 winner at his last start. His main assignment is the Nullabor next week but he will be hard to beat if he handles the track and the backline draw. DIEGO (1) has finished towards the rear at his two starts back from a spell but he is a talented frontrunner at his best. JUMPINGJACKMAC (12) was an impressive winner of the Bunbury Cup two starts back and will be charging home here. BLITZEMBYE (10) is drawn to be a good place if the polemarker performs well. Tips: 11 1 12 10 Suggested Bet: CATCH A WAVE (11) to win. Race 5 ZEPHYRA (1) has battled bad draws and stronger fields recently and this looks an ideal assignment to bounce back into the winners’ circle. FLY TO FLAME (5) was a good 2nd to Turn The Page here last week and should be in the finish again. FLAMETREE (10) disappointed at her last run but is drawn to get a lovely run and looks a good place chance. HUNT THE MAGIC (4) has won her last three starts and is ready for the rise in class. Tips: 1 5 10 4 Suggested Bet: ZEPHYRA (1) to win. Race 6 NEVER ENDING (3) was a brilliant first-up winner before facing the breeze and disappointing slightly in Bunbury Cup. He drops in grade tonight and looks extremely hard top beat. ALL IS WELL (1) ran a close 3rd to NEVER ENDING (3) before beating an easier field at his last start and should be right in the finish from the pole. HOTLY PURSUED (4) led and was only beaten by a short margin by the favourite at his last start and will give plenty of cheek if he can cross at the start. SKYLORD (11) is next best. Tips: 3 1 4 11 Suggested Bet: NEVER ENDING (3) to win. Race 7 STENO (9) has won her last six on end trialled brilliantly recently to indicate that she is more than capable of overcoming the wide draw. CYCLONE CHARLOTTE (6) has a losing sequence of 12 but is racing well and should figure in the finish. MIGHTHAVTIME (5) was a good last start winner and is always dangerous with the right run. QUEENINTHECORNER (1) was a solid winner in easier company here last week and the rise in class is offset by the pole draw. Tips: 9 6 5 1 Suggested Bet: STENO (9) to win. Race 8 SOLESSEO MATUCA (3) faced the breeze when a narrow 2nd here a fortnight ago and should be prominent throughout. LOUCID DREAMS (1) was going to go very close when he was checked at a crucial stage here last week and looks a major player from the pole tonight. JETT STAR (6) drops in class from his last start 6th to Pinny Tiger and must be respected despite the wide draw. LETS GET ROCKIN (2) was held up when 3rd in a similar event here last week and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 3 1 6 2 Suggested Bet: SOLESSEO MATUCA (3) to win. Race 9 MARENGO BAY (5) has won three of his last four starts and is handicapped to be extremely hard to beat here if he does everything right. ALDEBARAN SUNDOWN (9) was a solid 2nd to the favourite at his last start but meets him 10 metres worse off tonight. THATS NOT MY GAIT (7) has won her last two in easier company and is ready for the rise in class. TRICKY RIC (11) was a nice 3rd to MARENGO BAY (5) at his last start but has to concede a 30-metre head start to that trotter here. Tips: 5 9 7 12 Suggested Bet: MARENGO BAY (5) to win. Race 10 ARTFUL MAJOR (1) led throughout in good time at his last start and should give a great sight from the pole. BET THE HOUSE (5) has resumed with three consecutive victories with the latest a brilliant 1.54.1 win against a stronger field and is the obvious danger. ARMA BELIEVER (2) is drawn to get the run of the race and shouldn’t be far away. GREVIS (4) ran 2nd to BET THE HOUSE (5) in the Gold Bullion Final and is always thereabouts. Tips: 1 5 2 4 Suggested Bet: ARTFUL MAJOR (1) to win. Race 11 BEE JAYS BOY (2) has finished just behind the placegetters at his last four starts but looks the one to beat from the draw in the company. SWAGGER MAN (4) has finished 2nd at both starts this time in and is working his way up to a win. ACOLTNAMEDSU (3) was a good winner in weaker company here on Tuesday and could press for the front in the early stages. GORDON (1) sat behind the leader and was placed here last week and a similar scenario is likely tonight. Tips: 2 4 3 1 Suggested Bet: BEE JAYS BOY (2) to win. Market Market
