Warren Huntly’s Saturday Caulfield Preview Posted on July 21, 2023July 21, 2023 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 SENSICAL ran well first up and gets blinkers on. WOLFY worked through the line impressively in his most recent jumpout. GANGITANO was given a solid hit out to win his latest jumpout in good style. AMIGO gets blinkers and has jumped out well alongside Gangitano between runs. Selections: 9,10,1,6 Suggested Bet: Sensical each way Race 2 KING’S CROSSING is racing well and was beaten by an in-form galloper last time. MOVEFORLEX, FUN SUNDAY and GOTTABESAVVY come through the same race and look the other key winning hopes. Fun Sunday may settle closer with the rise in trip from the inside draw. Selections: 2,3,4,1 Suggested Bet: King’s Crossing to win Race 3 ROLLS backed up quickly to win the Warrnambool Cup, so the seven day break here should be no issue. He’s well treated under the weight scale. TEEWATERS has form around Rolls and should be right at his top now. FERAGO is racing well but the prospect of a good rated track disadvantages him. STATION ONE was poor last start but gets a gear change and is capable of giving a sight. Selections: 1,3,4,5 Suggested Bet: Rolls to win Race 4 MOLLYNICKERS was well backed when resuming over 1200m and won accordingly. She looks hard to beat as the only winner in the race and should appreciate 1400m. EUGENIUS ran well first up and will strip fitter. INEXORABLE hit the line strongly on debut and looks suited by the rise in trip. FIVE STAR KING has shown talent at the jumpouts. Selections: 8,1,4,6 Suggested Bet: Mollynickers to win Race 5 MOVADER arguably produced her best effort to date to win last start. She maps for a good run and looks a strong chance again in a competitive race. CUBAN LINK has been racing well without winning and should be suited back to 1400m. IMPENDING SHADOW may need some luck from the draw but has returned in great form and Ollie sticking is a plus. BEOUR BAY, VERSILIA, MILTIDA and DIVINE DIOSA have claims. Selections: 10,2,16,1 Suggested Bet: Movader each way Race 6 KIN impressed winning over the course and distance last time and it could be a case of rinse and repeat’. Doubt the prospect of a firmer track will be a disadvantage. COTEL is likely to settle in front of Kin in the run and shapes as the main danger. CHARMED RUN comes through a strong race and will be strong late. TYCOON JENNY, LACEMAKER, RUN LIKE HELL and MOTITSI all won easier races in good style last time and have place claims. Selections: 1,2,3,9 Suggested Bet: Kin to win Race 7 VA VIA takes on the boys this time but on the strength of her last start victory looks the one to beat again. ANGRY SKIES was competitive against quality opposition during the spring and has jumped out well to resume as a gelding. VALIDATED is building a handy record in SA and brings some new blood. BRERETON hasn’t quite delivered on his promise yet but gets blinkers and has jumped out well between runs. JENNY JEROME will be charging late. Selections: 6,4,2,3 Suggested Bet: Va Via to win Race 8 Not a lot between a few of these. INGRATIATING will strip fitter, his overall Caulfield is strong and he should appreciate an improving surface. GENERAL BEAU comes through the same form line, he’s fit and racing well. IT’SOURTIME and MNEMENTH come through a strong race down the Flemington straight, there’s a slight weight turnaround in favour of It’sourtime but doubt there will be much between them. Selections: 1,2,6,5 Suggested Bet: Including 1,2,6, & 5 in Quaddie Race 9 ST LAWRENCE has a great winning habit and showed good fight to score first up. His stablemate, CARDIGAN QUEEN, has been kept fresh and jumped out nicely between runs. SERIOUS LIAISON has changed stables and gets a few gear changes, he’ll appreciate a relatively firm deck and could be the blowout outside the more favoured runner. SCANTOON should be at his peak now. BARRETTA is fit and in form. Selections: 1,9,13,11 Suggested Bet: St Lawrence to win Market Market
