Warren Huntly’s Sunday Flemington Preview Posted on December 30, 2022December 30, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Plenty to learn with so many debutantes. Of the first starters, MISS ARIA, EXPLORING and EXTREMELY WICKED (also engaged Moonee Valley Saturday) looked to jump out particularly well. CROATION BELLE (also engaged Moonee Valley Saturday) has race experience and looked good winning on debut at Moonee Valley. ODE TO JOY seemed to go well in a couple of recent jumpouts without being tested, the market may provide the best lead with her. Selections: 7,4,5,1 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn. Race 2 PAPILLON CLUB resumed with an impressive maiden victory, recording some of the day’s best closing sectionals. She’s been kept fresh and looks capable of measuring up to tougher company. MAGNASPIN stuck on ok down the straight last start and looks suited stepping up to 1400m. CAPITAL EXPRESS was heavily backed to win an easier race over this trip in good style last time. HENNESSY LAD is unbeaten and gives the impression 1400m is well within his scope. PRAIRIE FLOWER beat Magnaspin home last start and will strip fitter second up. Selections: 9,4,8,1 Suggested Bet: Papillon Club to win Race 3 WROTE TO ARATAKI and BELLE ET RICHE come through a strong form race behind Life Lessons last start and both ran well. SHUFFLE DANCER was well back to win an easier race in good style last start and appears promising. It looks very even outside those three. JENNIFERWISH had excuses last time. CHARMING DI is fit and in form, as is STATE OF MAINE. NO SECRET shapes as though the rise in distance will suit. FOREST DIAMOND will be better over further but has jumped out well. LONGTINEDREAMING impressed with blinkers on last start. ENTREMET chased well behind Charming Di last time. Selections: 4,1,12,8 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 4,1 & 12 Race 4 VERMENTINO (also engaged Moonee Valley Saturday) looks highly promising and hard to beat if he lines up here. STRIPPED BACK impressed winning first up and has jumped out nicely since. SIGH sprinted quickly to win first up and will strip fitter. PROPICE didn’t have much luck behind Sigh and is drawn to get an unimpeded run. SANDY PRINCE (also engaged Moonee Valley Saturday) has been jumping out well to resume. Selections: 6,4,10,9 Suggested Bet: Vermentino to win Race 5 NABOO STAR wasn’t suited in a slowly run race first up. There was still plenty of merit in his performance and there should be a stronger tempo here. ACCUSE is flying this preparation, he had the better of HASSELTOFF last start, who then won here with blinkers applied. There wasn’t much between IMA SHELBY and OCEANOGRAPHY last start and that is likely to be the case again. Selections: 11,7,3,8 Suggested Bet: Naboo Star each way Race 6 PAL D’ORO has returned in great form and looks well placed on the minimum weight. His form ties in with LOOKS LIKE ELVIS, NICOLINI VITO, BIOMETRIC and CORNER POCKET. SUBCONCIOUS is an intriguing runner with international form lines, he’s been jumping out well for the new stable. Selections: 8,4,6,1 Suggested Bet: Pal D’Oro each way Race 7 PERSAN controlled a key lead up race here last start and looks hard to beat again. SOUND endured at tough run at Pakenham and battled on well under the circumstances. NOBEL HEIGHTS was no match for Persan last start, but gets a small amount of weight relief. REGAL LION has been going ok in Sydney staying races and gets J.Kah. SAN HUBERTO has jumped out well between runs. Selections: 1,2,6,4 Suggested Bet: Persan to win Race 8 VICTORY BAY wasn’t suited by the slow tempo last start and there appears to be a more genuine speed here. He should secure a good run near that speed. SUPARAZI takes another rise in grade, but he’s flying and maps for another good run. CORONA LAD come through the same race as Victory Bay and should also appreciated a more genuine tempo. NETANYAHU and EL CORDOBES are in the mix with any luck from wide draws. OBFUSCATION is on trial at 1400m, but is also in the mix should he gain a start. Selections: 12,1,5,11 Suggested Bet: Victory Bay to win Market Market
