Warren Huntly’s Saturday Moonee Valley Preview Posted on December 30, 2022December 30, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 EXTREMELY WICKED has been jumping out well and worked strongly through the line in her most recent hit out. DELIBES was ridden with some intent and looked sharp winning a recent Kembla Grange trial. CROATION BELLE has race experience and handled The Valley well to win on debut. MANSIERE moved nicely in a recent jumpout and appeared to have plenty in reserve. Selections: 7,3,1,4 Suggested Bet: Happy to look and learn Race 2 VERMENTINO (also accepted Flemington NYD) looks highly promising, he’s unbeaten to date and appears capable of taking another rise in grade. DANCE TO DUBAI looks the main danger, she improved second up to be narrowly beaten in the ‘whip protest’ race. SANDY PRINCE (also accepted Flemington NYD) has jumped out well to resume, as has his stablemate PAS MALOTRU. OCEAN BEYOND and CRESTANI have some claims. Selections: 8,9,7,2 Suggested Bet: Vermentino to win Race 3 Competitive staying race. LOOK SHARPISH was safely held by EATON here last start, but there may be more pressure in this race to help narrow the margin. PLATINUM SPIRIT had every chance in the same race and may be better for the run at the trip. MEINER LEGACY is racing well and gives the impression the extra distance will suit. ACCOUNTABILTY finished alongside Meiner Legacy two starts back and was ok in a stronger race last week. Selections: 8,3,2,6 Suggested Bet: Look Sharpish each way Race 4 MARTON BULLWINKEL had to do plenty of chasing last start and stuck on well at her first test in this distance range. She has jumped out nicely between runs. FIGHTING ARROW worked home well at Werribee and should be at peak fitness now. ANCIENT EGYPT will strip fitter third up and could be looking for this trip now. HIGHLAND JAKK may also appreciate getting out to 2040m. JAYROD TOO will ride the speed and give a sight. Selections: 3,8,10,2 Suggested Bet: Matron Bullwinkel to win Race 5 Another competitive race. If they are running on then REAL SENSATION is right in it, he’s been kept fresh since chasing the flying Savannah Cloud last start. His stablemate FLORIDA DREAM, has also been kept fresh and there’s winning form out of his last start victory. SOUTHERN NATIVE ran well in a strong BM58 last start and maps for a good run. COMMODUS endured a tough run last start, his previous run behind Tasman Park reads well for this. UNFAIR DISMISSAL looks ready for this trip. Selections: 1,2,10,12 Suggested Bet: Real Sensation each way Race 6 RIOT AND ROSE appeals as the one to beat following the scratching of Kettle Hill. He’s run well against better opposition at both his runs following a lengthy break and the step up to 1600m looks ideal. SHAKESPEARE can pull out a run fresh and has been trialling well. BELTORO is race fit and is going well enough in strong race. MORRISSY may need some luck from the draw but is racing as though 1600m will suit and this stage of his career. MUNHAMEK should appreciate the rise in distance, as will NIGHT PASSAGE. Selections: 6,9,8,3 Suggested Bet: Riot and Rose to win Race 7 ICE PICK NICK has been kept fresh since failing to handle the deteriorating track at Ballarat. His previous form is good for this grade and he’s a winner here. IN DUE TIME had little luck here last start and will be suited by the step up to 1200m. RIVER NOIRE is promising, with any luck from the wide draw she’s right in it. CHESTER WARRIOR will strip fitter for his first up run. ELITE ICON should be suited getting out to 1200m. GUNNA GUNNA did it tough behind a promising galloper last start and maps for a better run. Selections: 2,9,12,14 Suggested Bet: Ice Pick Nick each way Race 8 Plenty of different form line converging with eight last start winners before scratchings. FASUTO resumed with a dominant victory and his previous form ties in with BOLDINHO, who has strong claims. SHE DANCES might have to absorb a bit more pressure here than last start, but looks promising, as does her stablemate COTEL. LI’L WONDER quickened nicely to win here second up. MAXIMILLIUS and MT NISEKO have both been jumping out well to resume gelded. Selections: 4,8,3,12 Suggested Bet: Fasuto each way Race 9 QURAYSHA won well here last start and Magnum Bullet enhanced that form last week. EXTREME STEP also won well here last start and maps for a good run. STARLIGHT SCOPE may have been in slightly inferior ground first up but still ran creditably. She’ll strip fitter and looks attractively weighted after the claim. THRONTARI stuck on well down the straight last start and is drawn for a soft run. ALLEGRETTA and DEVIL’S FIDDLE are in the mix. Selections: 2,3,5,4 Suggested Bet: Playing multiples around 2,3 & 5 Market Market
