Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Mornington Preview Posted on December 27, 2022December 27, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 THE RIDDLER shapes like the rise in trip will suit comes through maidens of some depth. SHOOTTHELIGHTSOUT is likely to roll forward and is hard fit for a couple of runs in the distance range. FANTASISING finished strongly at her first Australian start and ran well over longer trips before arriving here. TORNONOVA and NIEVRE look place hopes. Selections: 6,2,9,10 Suggested Bet: The Riddler to win Race 2 ALASKAN STORM was only grabbed late start and should roll forward and give another good sight. SCAPINI worked home well on debut and looks suited by the rise in distance, as does FIELD THE MOMENT. DANCINGINTHEDARK has shown talent at the jumpouts. HANMNER SPRINGS ran much better than her starting price last time and gets J.Kah. Selections: 1,15,5,2 Suggested Bet: ALASKAN STORM each way Race 3 OASIS GOLD ran well first up and looks suited by the step up to 1200m. MACCY DANCER found the 1000m too short on debut, she may settle closer with the benefit of that experience and should also appreciate 1200m. ARCTIC EAGLE has jumped out ok since his debut and gets blinkers on. ALLURING REBEL has jumped out nicely leading inti his debut. Selections: 10,8,2,1 Suggested Bet: Oasis Gold each way Race 4 MEMPHIS SHADOW has trialled and jumped out nicely for his home track debut, he looks big odds in early markets. ROMANOVA stuck on ok in a leader dominated race on debut. DAICOS has been jumping out in good style to resume. ALLETANTE is drawn wide for her debut, but has looked good in recent jumpouts. CANNOLI also has the wide draw to overcome, but has J.Kah and worked home strongly over 1000m first up. Selections: 6,14,4,10 Suggested Bet: Memphis Shadow each way Race 5 COMMODUS endured a torrid run last start. If he’s come through that ok, then his previous form behind Tasman Park reads well for this. COAXIAL is racing in good form, he looks well placed dropping back in trip with the claim. RUNNING ON TIME looked good winning on debut and has jumped out nicely between runs. KWOI HOI was well below expectations last start and is capable of much better. Selections: 4,3,8,2 Suggested Bet: Commodus each way Race 6 STATE SQUAD chased a promising galloper, who has won again since first up and should appreciate the rise in distance. ART MAJOR worked through the line ok last start and generally races well on his home track. BASS and BADISS come though the same race and both look suited stepping up to 2000m. CELTIC GLORY is fit and consistent. Selections: 6,5,1,2 Suggested Bet: State Squad each way Race 7 Even race. ONLY NEEDS TIME has returned in great form and should appreciate what appears to be a strong tempo. DISCERNING drops in grade from her run at Pakenham behind Red Card and Dusse, the latter was unlucky at Listed level on Boxing Day. MYSTERY ECLIPSE will be part of the speed and has returned in good form. FLY NICE has been jumping out quite well to resume. SAN TELMOS FIRE was disappointing last start, but her previous form would see her in the mix. Selections: 4,5,6,7 Suggested Bet: Only Needs Time each way Race 8 KAIDO has jumped out ok behind Jigsaw since his first up run behind a promising galloper and gets blinkers on. CONDO’S EXPRESS looks well placed, particularly with the claim, on anything like his best form. He’s been jumping out ok without his race day blinkers. SHOVE OVER should appreciate the rise in trip second up. ROSSMAN, EXCEL AND FLY and ONE REASON have some claims. Selections: 9,2,5,10 Suggested Bet: Kaido to win Market Market
