Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on October 20, 2022October 20, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 KIMBLE (5) was a narrow winner at his WA debut before getting out too late when 2nd here last week and looks the one to beat tonight. IN THE SPOTLIGHT (11) was held up at a crucial stage when 2.6m 5th in the WA Oaks here last week and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. LITTLE BITOF FUN (1) led when a close 2nd here last week and should be thereabouts again. THE STARS ABOVE (12) was beaten in a photo-finish by KIMBLE (5) here two starts back before winning in 1.56.7 but is drawn poorly. Tips: 5 11 1 12 Suggested Bet: KIMBLE (5) to win. Race 2 DONT BOTHER ME NONE (12) has been placed in two of his three starts since resuming and has the strength to be put into the race in this company. EUPHORIA (4) has been placed in eight of his past 11 starts and should be right in the finish again. WHATABRO (1) has been thereabouts of late and gets his chance to press for an all-the-way victory here. MASTER PUBLISHER (10) worked too hard last week but is drawn to get a soft run on the pegs and won’t be far away. Tips: 12 4 1 10 Suggested Bet: DONT BOTHER ME NONE (12) to win. Race 3 THE CODE BREAKER (1) led throughout in 1.57.7 here two starts back and he should lead and give a great sight again despite the rise in class. GLENLEDI CHIEF (2) has been battling handicaps or wide draws and looks a big improver from this barrier tonight. DOC HOLLIDAY (10) was a strong winner here last week and will be dangerous if he sees daylight at the right time. FANCI A DANCE (8) probably has the best form in the field but has drawn poorly in comparison with his main rivals. Tips: 1 2 10 8 Suggested Bet: THE CODE BREAKER (1) to win. Race 4 LAVRA JOE (6) was a strong 3rd from the breeze to Magnificent Storm at his last start and will appreciate the staying journey tonight. HURRICANE HARLEY (2) was sound at his return when not suited by the wide draw but should lead here and he always gives a great sight in that role. JUMPINGJACKMAC (4) led when 2nd to Magnificent Storm here last week and looks likely to get a nice run in the moving line. MINSTREL (3) disappointed last time in but ran solid 5th at his return and could be ready to produce something closer to his best. Tips: 6 2 4 3 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (6) to win. Race 5 MACHS BETTOR (1) is an improving type who has won four of his past five starts in easier company. This is his biggest test but he has the advantage of the pole draw and will give a great sight. TRICKY MIKI (10) is drawn to get a soft run on the back of the polemarker and will be charging home if he sees daylight at the right time. SWINGBAND (12) would have been favourite for this event a few weeks back but did things wrong at his last start and has a tough draw to overcome. STREET HAWK (5) is drawn awkwardly but has won four of his last five starts. Tips: 1 10 12 5 Suggested Bet: MACHS BETTOR (1) to win. Race 6 FIFTY FIVE REBORN (1) led throughout from this draw in 1.57.5 back in June and will give a sight if she can reproduce that effort. EIGHTEEN CARAT (11) is first-up but has a nice trailing draw and looked good in winning three of her last four starts before going for a spell. VIVERE DAMORE (10) led throughout to defeat a similar field here recently and should be thereabouts again. BETTOR GET IT ON (2) overcame a wide barrier to finish 3rd to Vivere Damore at her last start and must be considered from her nice draw. Tips: 1 11 10 2 Suggested Bet: FIFTY FIVE REBORN (1) each way. Race 7 FIREROCKFIREROLL (2) hasn’t had much luck in his two WA starts where he has finished just behind the placegetters. He won at his only attempt stand event and appeals as the one to beat tonight. TROOPINGOFTHECOLOUR (1) was poised to fight out the finish with Himself when he contacted a sulky at his last start and will be prominent throughout here. AUSSIE SCOOTER (3) is having his first go from the tapes but should fight out the finish if he steps cleanly. JOEY JAMES (6) has ability but is unreliable from the stand. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: FIREROCKFIREROLL (2) to win. Race 8 ELDAYTONA (1) has battled bad draws at his two runs back from a spell when finishing on the heels of the placegetters. He draws to take up his favoured front-running role tonight and should prove hard to catch. JETT STAR (2) is getting back to his best form and has options at the start. IMA ROCKABILLY REBEL (3) is first-up but was racing extremely well last time in and should be right in the finish if anywhere near his top. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (6) hit the line strongly when 2nd to Finvarra at his first run back from a spell and will be running on. Tips: 1 2 3 6 Suggested Bet: ELDAYTONA (1) to win. Race 9 THE MUSTANG (2) has impressed in leading throughout to win his first two starts in the state and should bring up the hat-trick tonight. BEAT CITY (1) is first-up so is likely to trail his stablemate and should be in the money. IDEAL AGENT (3) was a brave 2nd at his last start in quick time but is drawn outside his main rival. THEO AVIATOR (4) trialled very well for his new stable and can be placed. Tips: 2 1 3 4 Suggested Bet: THE MUSTANG (2) to win. Race 10 ROCK ME OVER (2) has finished towards the rear at his last five starts but looks a big improver against this moderate line-up. TUAS DELIGHT (10) has also been unplaced at his last five starts but will play a part if he sees daylight at the right time. GLORAFILIA (11) has been disappointing in her two WA runs but looks suited in this company. CROCODILE KID (1) holds the key to the race as he likes to lead and could give a sight. Tips: 2 10 11 1 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (2) to win. Market Market
