Warren Huntly’s Wednesday Caulfield Preview Posted on October 11, 2022 | Posted by Warren Huntly Race 1 Rain forecast late afternoon may impact the meeting. REDIENER stuck on well when stepping out of maiden grade last start and 1600m looks suitable. FERRARI MAN will make his own luck and the form around him is holding up ok. WATADEEL sprinted well to win when the run appeared first up and looks progressive. He should also appreciate the rise to 1600m. YAKI ISHI was tradesman like winning last time but will strip fitter and is suited by the rise in trip. Selections: 1,6,4,2 Suggested Bet: Working around 1,6 & 4 Race 2 VERIMLI was responsible for an outstanding first up run and Saracen Knight has made that form look even better since. HERMAN HESSE was a touch unlucky last start in a stronger race and has earned his weight in this grade. GONE WEST has returned from a lengthy break in good form, the extra trip looks in his favour. CABOCHE has been Group 1 placed at this trip and will be close to peak fitness. PORT PHILIP is racing through the grades well for the new stable. Selections: 3,1,7,5 Suggested Bet: Verimli each way Race 3 There has been some merit in MILFORD’S two runs back. He’s unbeaten over 2000m here and will appreciate dropping back in grade. YONKERS also looks well placed dropping in grade third up and, he’s another that likes the track. PATERNAL will appreciate stepping up in trip. His form ties in with Caboche who runs in the previous race. PONDUS did enough in a good race first up. GLINT OF HOPE should get a soft run and is suited by the rise in distance. GUNSTOCK ran well first up. Selections: 4,1,9,3 Suggested Bet: Milford each way Race 4 AESOP has returned in great form and looks ideally suited stepping up to 2000m. POUNDING chased well behind Aesop last start but has a bit of ground to make up. KEATS has settled in well to the new stable and will make his own luck. WHITE MARLIN overcame difficulties to win at his first Australian start and looks suited stepping up to 2000m. Selections: 7,5,2,4 Suggested Bet: Aesop to win Race 5 Even race. KISS ME IF YOU CAN is racing in good form. He will ride the speed and the form around him is holding up well. CORONA LAD had no luck first up and his second up run was encouraging. REAL SENSATION gets blinkers first time, he’s been freshened and is sure to be hitting the line strongly. JOLTING had no luck last start, he’s flying for the new stable but has draw off the track. MESSIGNADI and RIOTOUS MISCHIEF have claims in a deep race. Selections: 1,8,11,13 Suggested Bet: Kiss Me If You Can each way Race 6 Another tough race. MINSK MOMENT has the wide draw to contend with but comes through a strong benchmark race first up. PASCERO made up for some unlucky runs last start and seems to relish racing at this trip. MUNHAMEK was well backed to win his Australian debut, he’s been back to the jumpouts since. NUGGET is a query runner, he’s looked sharp in jumpouts leading in to his first Australian run. EXTEME FLIGHT covered ground against the pattern first up. FIELD OF ROSES is right in the mix should he gain a start. Selections: 6,8,7,19 Suggested Bet: MINSK MOMENT each way Race 7 ECONOMICS won well first up. He maps for a good run will have no issues if the rain has arrived. GREECE has always had a wrap on her, she won in the manner of a stakes class horse first up. GREAT BARRIER REEF didn’t have much luck down the straight last start. DAUMIER looks better placed back to 1200m. LOFTY STRIKE looked a real Blue Diamond contender early days, he’s been jumping out quite well to resume. GRAND IMPACT has plenty of upside and has been jumping out nicely to face his toughest test to date. Selections: 5,14,9,3 Suggested Bet: Working around 5,14 & 9 Race 8 BOOGIE DANCER relished the rain affected ground to win a key lead up race last start. She gives every impression that 1600m will be ok. The blinkers went on SHE’S LICKETYSPLIT last start and she was strong winning at 1600m. NORTH STAR LASS brings the Group 1 Sydney fillies form and will make her own luck. TAJNEED chased well behind She’s Licketysplit at only her second start. WALTZ ON BY is racing in great form. RUSSIAN CONQUEST may be able to settle a bit closer from the inside draw. Selections: 4,3,5,10 Suggested Bet: Boogie Dancer to win Race 9 ROOTS looks progressive. She’s been well placed to win her last couple but her overall form gives her strong claims. FOXY FRIDAY will strip fitter third up and gets blinkers on, she’s handled soft ground well. DAISIES and ELUSIVE EXPRESS come through the same race as Foxy Frida and have claims, their wide draws may not be a major concern if the rain has arrived. If CAP DE JOIE gains a start, she gives the impression she can measure up to this grade. Selections: 16,7,2,19 Suggested Bet: Roots each way Market Market
