Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 17, 2022February 17, 2022 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 BLITZEMBYE (2) has led throughout at his last two starts and ran home in slick times on both occasions. He meets a stronger field tonight and is likely to be subjected to more pressure but should still prove hard to catch. HITTHEROADJACK (3) has won four of his five starts this time in and should enjoy a nice run close to the speed. DONT BOTHER ME NONE (7) is probably the best horse in the field but he is going to have to work hard to overcome the draw. ORLANDO BLUE (10) will be charging home if he sees daylight. Tips: 2 3 7 10 Suggested Bet: BLITZEMBYE (2) to win. Race 2 VESPA (3) has had to overcome wide draws at his first two runs back from a spell and has performed credibly. He looks the likely leader here and should prove hard to catch. KNOW WHEN TO RUN (4) has won two of his last three starts and will make his presence felt here. HAMPTON BANNER (10) has an awkward draw to overcome but drops significantly in class and will be in the finish if he has any luck in running. WHOSWHOINTHEZOO (2) is always capable of bobbing up at odds with the right run in transit. Tips: 3 4 10 2 Suggested Bet: VESPA (3) to win. Race 3 DIEGO (2) was unlucky in the feature races over the Summer Carnival and is clearly the one to beat in this much easier assignment. TYLER BRETT (1) led throughout to defeat Gambit here two starts back and will be trying to repeat that performance tonight. DOC HOLLIDAY (7) goes up considerably in class on his first-up victory and draws poorly here but is a horse to follow. ALTA INTRIGUE (3) should enjoy a nice trip close to the speed and shouldn’t be far away. Tips: 2 1 7 3 Suggested Bet: DIEGO (2) to win. Race 4 GAMBIT (5) broke back into the winners’ circle with a comfortable victory here last week and is clearly the one to beat again but is likely to have work in the run. DOUBLE UP (3) is racing extremely consistently and looks the obvious danger after drawing inside the favourite. MIRRAGON (10) is always dangerous with the right run and is capable of causing an upset if there is a solid early tempo. TYPHOON BANNER (8) is another who will be suited if the speed is on throughout and will be charging home. Tips: 5 3 10 8 Suggested Bet: MIRRAGON (10) each way. Race 5 VIVERE DAMORE (2) resumed from a spell with a narrow 2nd to Al Guerrero after attempting to lead throughout. She drops back to take on her own sex and will be hard to beat if she can take up the running. BLISSFULABBEY (1) led throughout from this draw three starts back and has options at the start tonight. ANGEL IN WHITE (3) has battled bad draws since winning here four starts back and should play a part from this barrier. PUREST SILK (6) chased hard when 2nd to SUING YOU (4) at her last start and can be placed again. Tips: 2 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: VIVERE DAMORE (2) to win. Race 6 CHICAGO BULL (6) was a brave 3rd after facing the breeze in the WA Pacing Cup and is the one to beat here despite starting from the widest barrier. MIRACLE MOOSE (3) upset Magnificent Storm before being nosed out in the WA Pacing Cup and is a horse on the rise. PAPINIK (4) was an unlucky 9th in that event and is suited by the small field here. SANGUE REALE (1) looks the leader and could get away with some very cheap sectionals. Tips: 6 3 4 1 Suggested Bet: CHICAGO BULL (6) to win. Race 7 CARRERA MACH (2) wasn’t suited racing in the breeze last week but is likely to lead or enjoy a nice trail in the moving line tonight and looks the one to beat. CAVEMAN (4) resumed with a solid 5th at Pinjarra and should make his presence felt in this line-up. ALLWOODS ROCKNROLL (1) has been battling bad draws of late and looks a big improver from the pole. ROCK ME OVER (12) ran a nice 3rd at his last start and the scratching brings him into a nice trailing draw here. Tips: 2 4 1 12 Suggested Bet: CAVEMAN (4) each way. Race 8 THE MIKI TAKER (2) is drawn to be prominent throughout and his closing sectionals will make him hard to beat. FLOEWRITER (1) has won four of his last five starts and is the likely leader here and will give a great sight. SWINGBAND (5) led throughout to defeat a similar field at his last start and will still make his presence felt despite the wider draw. ROCK ON TOP (4) has plenty of ability and can win this event if the race is run to suit. Tips: 2 1 5 4 Suggested Bet: THE MIKI TAKER (2) to win. Race 9 BEACH START (2) won two on end before drawing poorly here last week. He has the barrier advantage over his main rivals tonight and appeals as the one to beat. OVERJOYED (5) was an impressive last start winner and should fight out the finish but has an awkward draw to overcome. MISS MUCHO (11) has a nice trailing draw and can play a part if the breaks go her way. MISTER BUSHIDO (4) should be approaching peak fitness after three runs back from a spell and can improve sharply here. Tips: 2 5 11 4 Suggested Bet: BEACH START (2) to win. Race 10 TRICKY RIC (3) ran a solid 3rd in the Trotters Cup at his first start back from a break before recording a comfortable Pinjarra victory. He isn’t the most reliable trotter but looks the one to beat if he puts it all together tonight. BEEFOUR BACARDI (1) has won four of his six starts this time in and will give a great sight from the pole. MAJESTIC DREAM (8) goes back 10 metres for his win in the Trotters Cup against a similar field but must be respected. TEARS OF JOY (2) has been placed in ten of his last 11 starts and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 3 1 8 2 Suggested Bet: TRICKY RIC (3) to win. Market Market
