Minstrel Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Ryan Warwick Ultra-consistent 5YO who has six wins and four placings from his last ten starts. Worked to the front and was far from disgraced when 2nd to Vampiro in 1.52.6 at his last start. He will be extremely hard to catch if he can hold the quick beginners on his outside. 2. Bletchley Park Trainer: Stephen Reed Driver: Lindsay Harper Has battled bad barriers of late and that has made his task too difficult in this class. He did lead throughout in 1.54.9 four starts back and can play a part from this draw if he can get the right trip in transit. 3. Vampiro Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Dylan Egerton-Green Experienced campaigner who hadn’t been racing at his best but burst back into calculations with an emphatic 1.52.6 victory here a fortnight. He possesses brilliant gate speed and will give a great sight if he can cross in the early stages. 4. Chicago Bull Trainer: Gary Hall Snr Driver: Gary Hall Jnr Is already a multiple winner of this event and bounced back from a year out of the winners’ list with a dominant victory from the breeze here last week. He is drawn to be prominent throughout and must be considered. 5. Diego Trainer: Gary Hall Snr Driver: Chris Lewis Has raced his way through the classes and has proven that he can follow speed and finish his races off strongly in this company. He flashed home when 2nd to Magnificent Storm two starts back and will be hitting the line strongly if there is a strong early tempo. 6. Patronus Star Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Colin Brown Has been placed at his last two starts behind Minstrel and then Vampiro in slick time here a fortnight ago. He possesses a brilliant turn of foot and is dangerous in any event he contests but he will need some luck from his awkward draw. 7. Wildwest Trainer: Gary Hall Snr Driver: Callan Suvaljko Did lead throughout in 1.52.8 here four starts back but he struggles on the Gloucester Park corners when off the pegs. He is drawn poorly here and will need plenty of things to go his way to figure in the finish. 8. Mighty Conqueror Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Deni Roberts Former WA Pacing Cup winner who was racing extremely well in July but has obviously had in jury concerns since that time. His last two efforts have been well below his best and he must be taken on trust. 9. Magnificent Storm Trainer: Ray Williams Driver: Aldo Cortopassi Has won 19 of his 23 career starts and will undeniably take the mantle as the state’s best pacer if he can overcome this draw to win tonight. He has the best form in the race but hasn’t started for three weeks and will have to be at his best to win from out here. 10. Hurricane Harley Trainer: Justin Prentice Driver: Maddison Brown Led throughout here four starts back and has struggled from awkward draws at his subsequent starts. He is drawn to enjoy a soft run on the pegs and looks a good place chance at odds. 11. Perfect Major Trainer: Ross Olivieri Driver: Chris Voak Stormed home to defeat Vampiro back in October but hasn’t been at his best since that victory. He is likely to head to the pegs and can be placed if everything goes his way but it would be a shock to see him cause an upset. 12. Balcatherine Trainer: Gary Hall Snr Driver: Aiden De Campo Has proven she is up to the company and led throughout to defeat Magnificent Storm three starts back. She can’t be ruled out but the draw makes it very tough and she will need some luck in running. 13. Galactic Star (1st Emerg.) Trainer: Greg & Skye Bond Driver: Michael Grantham Veteran who is a proven performer at this level and can be placed if he gets a start from a nice draw. 14. Rocknroll Lincoln (2nd Emerg.) Trainer: Justin Prentice Driver: Justin Prentice Former WA Pacing Cup winner who is on the comeback trail. He has improved in each of his three runs back from a long break but he would need a good draw to feature against race-fit rivals. Selection: Minstrel The barrier advantage over his main rivals will ensure that he will starts as the favourite. There are some questions over whether he can hold up at the start but he is capable with a sit and should fight out the finish regardless of what happens in the race to the first turn. Market Market
