Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on March 5, 2021March 5, 2021 | Posted by Trent Cooper Race 1 SILENT MAJOR (11) has won two of his three starts in WA and was far from disgraced in the Golden Nugget. He has a nice trailing draw tonight and is clearly the one to beat. ROLL WITH ME (2) is the best drawn of the main chances and will give them something to catch if he finds the front. VALENTINES BROOK (12) was an impressive last start winner and is drawn to follow the favourite throughout. MASTER PUBLISHER (7) is drawn wide and will need luck but has plenty of ability when right. Tips: 11 2 12 7 Suggested Bet: SILENT MAJOR (11) to win. Race 2 BLACK JACK ZAC (1) hasn’t had much luck of late and is drawn to be the one to beat. He races best with a sit but may elect to hold the front tonight against this field. THE LAST DROP (3) has been unplaced in his last five starts since leading throughout to defeat BLACK JACK ZAC (1) and must be considered from this draw. IDEAL INVESTMENT (2) has been unplaced at his past eight starts but will give a sight if he finds the front. DISCO UNDER FIRE (10) drops in class on his recent assignment and won’t be far away. Tips: 1 3 2 10 Suggested Bet: DISCO UNDER FIRE (10) each way. Race 3 MR KIWI (1) didn’t get out until too late when 3rd here last week but looks the likely leader and will be very hard to beat in that role. SPACE JUNK (5) put up a solid effort when a close-up 7th to Rock Me Over at his first run back from a break and looks the main danger. LIGHTNING JOLT (2) is first-up tonight without a trial but is always dangerous with the right run. LIAM NEIL (3) is a consistent type who has been battling bad barriers and can figure tonight. Tips: 1 5 2 3 Suggested Bet: MR KIWI (1) to win. Race 4 TEXAS TIGER (1) has made a big impression in WA, winning all four starts including a 1.51.7 track record two runs back. He steps up to open company for the first time and there may be a query over his gate speed from the pole but he is clearly the one to beat. STROKE OF LUCK (2) is a proven performer at this level and is drawn to be right in the finish. CHIAROSCURO (3) ran a nice 3rd here last week and should settle in a handy position. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (8) was a strong last start-winner but the draw makes it tough. Tips: 1 2 3 8 Suggested Bet: TEXAS TIGER (1) to win. Race 5 LAVRA JOE (1) was extremely brave when 2nd to MIGHTY RONALDO (10) here last week after facing the breeze and is clearly the one to beat from the pole. MIGHTY RONALDO (10) is drawn to track the favourite and can sprint brilliantly if he sees daylight at the right time. SEERYANFLY (11) is likely to settle three back on the pegs and looks a good place chance from that position. GIVE US A WAVE (4) was placed behind the favoured pair last week and should be thereabouts again. Tips: 1 10 11 4 Suggested Bet: LAVRA JOE (1) to win. Race 6 RUMOUR HAS IT (1) led throughout to win the Daintys Daughter Classic at her last start and looks capable of repeating the dose against the older mares. ALY SHAR (10) was a good all-the-way winner at her last start and is drawn to get the run of the race tonight. VIVERE DAMORE (9) is drawn poorly but will appreciate a drop in class and can play a part. SWEET MADDISON (12) hasn’t had muck at her past two starts and should be running on here. Tips: 1 10 9 12 Suggested Bet: RUMOUR HAS IT (1) to win. Race 7 ROCK ME OVER (2) looks back to his best after a good win over Power And Grace and a strong 2nd to Patrickthepiranha. He is nicely drawn and looks the one to beat. BRACKEN SKY (10) hasn’t had much luck of late and is always dangerous in a field of this nature. CARUBA (1) won consecutive races at this track in January and looks a major player from the pole. CARRERA MACH (6) is a consistent type and will be charging home if there is a solid tempo. Tips: 2 10 1 6 Suggested Bet: ROCK ME OVER (2) to win. Race 8 MAJOR STARE (2) has been working up to his best form and should prove hard to beat from his nice draw. POWER AND GRACE (3) beat home MAJOR STARE (2) here two starts back when 2nd to Rock Me Over and should settle in a handy position. WALSH (1) has been placed in five of his past six runs and has options from the pole. RAKASINC (6) will strip fitter for his first-up run and has the strength to make his own luck in his races. Tips: 2 3 1 6 Suggested Bet: MAJOR STARE (2) to win. Race 9 EAGLE ROYALTY (5) is an improving filly who has won her last two starts in impressive fashion and looks the one to beat despite the wide draw. TORREVEAN AMY (1) has been placed in her three race starts and faced the breeze when 2nd to TAKING THE MIKI (4) at her last run and looks the main danger from the pole. TAKING THE MIKI (4) led throughout at her second race start and could improve further. SHES AN EAGLE (2) looks a place chance from her nice draw. Tips: 5 1 4 2 Suggested Bet: EAGLE ROYALTY (5) to win. Market Market
