Scott Embry’s Wednesday Belmont Preview Posted on July 14, 2020July 15, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Race 1 CHOKSLAM is a brave investment considering her propensity for finding one better than her but her last start effort in a C1 when splitting Tiff has Spoken (m66) and Montelena (m64) was excellent. From the draw she should get every mortal hope (again) and hopefully Wednesday can be the day. HINDSIGHT BIAS was strong on debut behind Bright Diamond, She’s Enchanted and Big Man In The Sky. Wasn’t disgraced last start when leading and fading late. MY HIDDEN JOURNEY has always shown glimpses of ability. Likely to get a long way back from the draw but finished off hard fresh. TRADE MASTER has been going well. Numbers: 8 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – CHOKSLAM WIN Race 2 MORE was plunged on debut last week. Was $5 into $2.60 within the space of 60 minutes and the money continue to come right through until jump. She sat in the breeze and was unable to run down speedy filly Janaura. Backs up 7 days later and looks better suited at 1200 than 1000m. Looks a handy filly in the making. QUEEN BROWN has the runs on the board. She is drawn sticky but Chris Parnham has been putting on a clinic from wide gates on Dan Morton 2 year olds (Snickerdoodledandy/Kalaroo). SHOCK RESULT should find the front here and give a kick. SURF POINT finished off well on debut last week. Numbers: 10 – 9 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – MORE WIN Race 3 BILLY AIN’T SILLY was hard in the market on debut in a far tougher race than this. He ran a close third behind All Day Session and Born to Rule. Both of those horses have won races and run Saturday placings so the form stands out far and above the rest. They smashed the clock in that race and further back was subsequent winner Bumper Humper. CLASSIC MAGNUS is expected to make a race of it. Scratched to save for this race and draws perfectly. MORE SNITZEL ran the best race of his career last start. EMPIRE REIGN looked to have raw ability. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – BILLY AIN’T SILLY WIN Race 4 SWEETASSA is a jump and run filly who should give backers a mighty sight. First-up was rated to perfection at Northam by Lucy Warwick when scoring soft and then was big in defeat behind talented filly Wine Night and beat home subsequent winner Amelia Bedelia. Should prove hard to run down. ELITE STREET clearly has above average ability and those willing to forgive the first-up flop were rewarded last start when winning soft. REGAL POYSE was well thought of first-up when nothing went right. Back to trials, tongue tie on, keep safe. HIGH RANGE back to 1000m with a claim could see him improve. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – SWEETASSA WIN Race 5 UNIBRO will open juicy double figures. If you’re willing to be forgiving for his last couple of starts then only five starts ago he flasted late at Peppijack in a Sky Racing Provincial Series heat and then did all the work with 60kg in a C3 over 1400m when fourth behind Rock’n’ruler and Next Stop The Moon. He is an out and out wet tracker. Last start on a Soft7 was beaten a nose and his only start on a Heavy8 was incredible. Worth a throw at the stumps. FALSE STATEMENT is another who loves it wet and from the draw if he steps cleanly could even kick through to lead. Well placed in this grade. EXPRESSIONIST was a strong maiden winner. This is a fair bit tougher but he looks capable. I AM SPARTACUS trialed well. Numbers: 12 – 1 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – UNIBRO EACHWAY Race 6 PUT A SPELL ON YOU has been pulling herself into the ground in tougher races first-up and second-up. Horses seem to love being three deep for Madi Derrick and that looks exactly where she’ll be. Most suitable race she has seen all preparation. LIL RED BIKINI can shoot through from the inside draw and take up a position. HENTY GAL was a fresh winner last preparation and on her day has a powerful turn of foot. PLETTO is impossible to map but undeniably talented. Numbers: 3 – 11 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – PUT A SPELL ON YOU EACHWAY Race 7 POSITION OF POWER is going through the grades quickly and from the draw he should enjoy the world perfect run. Resumed over 1000m on a soft7 when never giving up the chase, was eye catching second-up behind Captain Kink (who won a 3yo 62+ last weekend) and then got the job done comfortably last time out. No reason why he can’t win again. STORMY RULER loves the wet track and after the claim for Chris Graham gets in with a luxurious 56.5kg. Genuine danger on paper. INFLATION gets the services of Mitchell Pateman who is unstoppable at the minute. ONE SHORT continues to race well. Numbers: 4 – 5 – 8 – 7 Suggested Bet – POSITION OF POWER WIN Race 8 BALLADEER has had an interrupted preparation but ran well enough last start to go close here from the draw. Wide open race with many chances and he is definitely one of them. THE ITALIAN JOB is likely to be ridden for speed from the wide gate in an attempt to cross. If he does he can definitely lead all the way. GALIBA has only won 1 race from 31 starts but new trainer Nathan Turvey has her going super at the minute. This race doesn’t have a deal of top end speed so she should be able to get across and is a blowout chance. ARAGAIN comes from a race 10L superior to this and she ran well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 16 – 12 Suggested Bet – BALLADEER EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,5,12 2,3,6,8,9,11 4,5,8 1,2,4,5,8,10,12,16 Market Market
