Scott Embry’s Thursday Geraldton Preview Posted on March 4, 2020March 4, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 BLITZ GLORY was beaten 5L two starts ago behind Forgotten Jewel, Trade Fair Express and Diamond Trade and then 8L last Saturday behind Sky Five, Diamond Trade and Black Ransom. Amazingly that looks like the best form in this race and he gets a big chance to break his duck. MISTINGUETTE is a staying filly. Not a bad effort last start at Narrogin. DERULES has been hitting the line in recent maidens. LAMBEK next best. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – BLITZ GLORY WIN Race 2 GLAMOUR BELLE broke her maiden last start in a C2 mile. They ran reasonable time in that event and she was strong through the line. With the right run in transit she can give the favourite a run for her money. MISS ZELEL has won impressively at her last two and gets a great chance to make it a winning hattrick. RUBY’S LEGACY makes his own luck and could pinch it. WILD MEMORIES is getting close. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – GLAMOUR BELLE WIN Race 3 INVICTUS DOMINI has only had the one public outing as a 4 year old and that was a recent 1100m trial at Geraldton when finishing off well behind Knuckle Down (C2 winner) and Truly Gold (Country Cups horse). Draws a gate and should give a sight on debut. PAGANI has put in two good runs since joining Gary Sorensen. Genuine winning chance. WRITTEN LAW was set a serious task first-up. No way he could do it as tough here. ZIERA is a new comer and has reasonable provincial maiden form to her name. Numbers: 7 – 12 – 3 – 13 Suggested Bet – INVICTUS DOMINI WIN Race 4 KNUCKLE DOWN resumes from a spell after racing in Carnarvon late in the season and then Geraldton at the start of theirs. Recent trial good, always been ultra consistent and Michelle Valentine has had her team flying for 12 months. WILDONBROOK won well last start and should end up in a similar position in running. BLANKENBERGE was good last start when dropping back in trip. Brock Lewthwaite has a great record travelling horses. RULE’EMOFF resumes first-up, no trial from a horror draw but has ability. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – KNUCKLE DOWN WIN Race 5 RUN FOR MONEY has been good at his last two and this looks a weaker race than either of those assignments. If Ben Paterson can get him across from a slightly awkward draw he should go close. MAGIC EMPIRE took 18 starts to win a race and Adam Durrant commented post-race that he may have even earnt retirement but strikes another winnable race. STRONG HEART is going to need some luck or a really good ride from the wide gate with 61kg and dropping back to 1400. OUQBA TED took 20 starts to break maiden status but this is no deeper. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 1 – 3 Suggested Bet – RUN FOR MONEY WIN Race 6 BOOTLEG RASCAL resumed in a C3 1200m when fighting on well into sixth beaten only 3L by Gessato and Solarize. Apache Pass ran third and was specked at a price in the Listed Lex Piper Stakes. Nice race for him. ARABIAN RICHES is in really good form and looks the testing material. RED EPIC may be best suited drawn wide. Runs huge races when deep the trip but only fair when taking a sit. STILL AWAKE trialed up well for this. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – BOOTLEG RASCAL WIN Race 7 PINSSON has not been seen since January 16th when running third to Field of Vision and Recoiled. Field of Vision is now a Batavia Sprint winner and Recoiled won the latest 70+ Geraldton race. Not actually a lot of speed so Stent should get across to a nice position. TRADE TALK was storming home late when returning to the track where he does his best work. BAY PUBLISHER is going a cog below his best but Troy Turner sticks and that’s enough to put him in the mix. DANEHILL MATILDA is getting close. Numbers: 5 – 1 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – PINSSON WIN Race 8 I’M PRETTY resumed with a barnstorming third behind Playing Marika and subsequent Saturday winner Sakarya. Never really got going last start in a C5 at Pinjarra, this is a nicer race for her. SKY ATLAS loves Geraldton and the last start effort in town to She’s Alight, More Aces and Rosebush was super. HOT STYLE took a while to bounce back to his best form but is now going very well. KENYLUCK will be looking for the fence from the outside.
