Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on February 13, 2020February 14, 2020 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 WHILE THEY PRAY (5) has won four of his seven starts this time in and was a strong 1.55.6 winner last start. He is drawn inside his main rival tonight and appeals as the one to beat. ICONIC VALOUR (6) has won three of his past six and is the obvious danger. ILLUSIONATION (1) is drawn to lead and give a good sight but normally finds one better than him. HOIHO (2) was an impressive all-the-way winner at Bunbury at his last start and is drawn to play a part. Tips: 5 6 1 2 Suggested Bet: WHILE THEY PRAY (5) to win. Race 2 SERGEANT OATS (1) raced consistently last campaign and was narrowly beaten in 1.54.7 here two starts back. He resumes from a short let up and could attempt an all-the-way win or take a sit. MARAS ACE MAN (2) will be hoping the polemarker takes the latter option as he will be hard to beat if he can find the front. MAJOR SPOILT (5) has finished runner-up at his last two starts in stronger fields but is awkwardly drawn tonight. PIERRE WHITBY (12) broke through for a well-deserved victory at his last start and will be charging home again. Tips: 1 2 5 12 Suggested Bet: SERGEANT OATS (1) to win. Race 3 NAVAL AVIATOR (5) was narrowly beaten in 1.55.4 here two starts back before running on strongly to finish 5th to Theo Aviator. This looks an easier assignment and he should give a great sight in a wide-open affair. LIGHTNING JOLT (1) is now with Aldo Cortopassi and looks a major player from the pole. ATHABASCAN (3) is racing consistently and would be extremely hard to beat if he could work his way to the front. MISTER BUSHIDO (6) wasn’t suited in the breeze last week but must be considered on his first-up 2nd to Touch Of Success. Tips: 5 1 3 6 Suggested Bet: NAVAL AVIATOR (5) to win. Race 4 THEO AVIATOR (11) was beaten into 4th after doing too much work two starts back before making amends with a comfortable victory last week. He goes to backline tonight and will finds this harder but still appeals as the one to beat. ATMOSPHERICAL (1) was unplaced at his last five starts before a spell but looks a major player from the pole. SON OF A TIGER (2) led and ran a brave 3rd here last week and will play a part from his nice draw. TOUCH OF SUCCESS (12) must be considered but will find this harder than his first-up all-the-way win. Tips: 11 1 2 12 Suggested Bet: THEO AVIATOR (11) to win. Race 5 DANCING WITH MACH (1) ran on well to finish 2nd in a similar event here last week. She gets the advantage of the pole tonight and should be right in the finish. COUNTESS GRACE (2) is first-up after a break but has very good gate speed and will be hard to catch if she can cross at the start. AMERICAN DELIGHT (6) has been placed in 13 of her 15 career starts and can overcome the awkward draw. BETTOR PACK IT (10) was beaten into 3rd as favourite last week but will enjoy a lovely run on the pegs tonight. Tips: 1 2 6 10 Suggested Bet: DANCING WITH MACH (1) to win. Race 6 BILL HALEY (6) was placed in the Fremantle Cup and flooded home when 3rd here last week. This represents a drop in class and he will be hard to hold out at the finish. OCEAN RIDGE (3) led throughout to win the Nights Of Thunder Final in 1.52.7. He goes up in distance and class for this assignment but will be hard to catch if he gets an easy lead. IDEAL LINER (5) has disappointed of late but has blinkers added and could improve sharply. THREE BEARS (1) is first-up but did lead throughout from the pole last time in. Tips: 6 3 5 1 Suggested Bet: BILL HALEY (6) to win. Race 7 ALWAYS AN HONOUR (1) defeated JIMMY MACK (12) in a similar event here four starts back. His subsequent form in mobiles has been sound but he prefers the stand and should give a great sight. JIMMY MACK (12) ran a brave 2nd in the Northam Cup off the same handicap and is the class horse of the field. THE BLACK CARDINAL (3) is in career-best form and looks the other major winning chance. ONEONTHEWOOD (10) has been placed in 13 of his last 20 starts and will be running on strongly again. Tips: 1 12 3 10 Suggested Bet: ALWAYS AN HONOUR (1) to win. Race 8 THE LAST DROP (1) led throughout to win consecutive races at Pinjarra before drawing poorly at his last start. He looks the leader tonight and should prove very hard to catch. SOHO THUNDERSTRUCK (11) defeated Major Martini recently and was a solid 3rd in quick time last week so must be respected. REACHER (10) is better known as a frontrunner but ran on strongly to win here last week and is drawn to get a lovely run. SALACIOUS GOSSIP (3) hit the line hard when 4th here last week and is getting close to a win. Tips: 1 11 10 3 Suggested Bet: THE LAST DROP (1) to win. Race 9 GARDYS LEGACY (8) won four on end before facing the breeze and deadheating here at his last start. The draw makes it tough but he is the class runner of the field and is still the one to beat. VALENTINES BROOK (5) has won two of his last three starts in easier company and is the omen bet for the night. BEE JAYS BOY (10) was an impressive all-the-way winner last start and can be dangerous from his trailing draw. JASPERVELLABEACH (9) deadheated with GARDYS LEGACY (8) last start but will need luck from this draw. Tips: 8 5 10 9 Suggested Bet: BEE JAYS BOY (10) each way. Race 10 FAKE NEWS (3) performed well during the Nights Of Thunder series including a 1.52.7 heat win. She is well drawn here against easier opposition and looks extremely hard to beat. HY LEEXCITING (8) will appreciate a big drop in class and is capable of overcoming the wide draw. CAPTAIN MANNERING (2) was a 1.54.9 winner two starts back and must be considered from this barrier. BHAGWAN (1) is drawn to get a nice run and can be placed. Tips: 3 8 2 1 Suggested Bet: FAKE NEWS (3) to win. Market Market
