Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on February 5, 2020February 5, 2020 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 FOXHOOD had his first start in the region last time out when fairly stiff to run into Indian Chant. Did a fair bit of work from the wide gate and was still there with 100m to go. Drawn perfectly, Jade McNaught on. Should be very hard to beat. YULONG ROCKSTAR is consistent as is RYDON and they both look like pinching a maiden before seasons end. PROMISSION next best. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 1 – 8 Suggested Bet – FOXHOOD WIN Race 2 ALI BARBER is stamping his case for Esperance Horse of the Year and seems to be thriving in the Esperance conditions. This is a weaker 68+ than his last win and should prove very hard to beat. IT’S DYNAMITE has been awkwardly caught between 58+ and 68+ company for a while in the Kalgoorlie/Esperance region. Gets her chance from the gun draw. PENALTY POINT was charging late last start. COMPARATIVE next best. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – ALI BARBER WIN Race 3 ZU MANTUA ran third two starts ago in a C2 1990m race when finishing within 1L of Deel Red and Smallamountofmerit. Lead them up last start in a 58+ when running the first 1000m 9L faster than average. Drop back to a mile a query but Pateman on and weak field makes him a bet. CHOSEN ART is going well. GRAND OPENING is getting closer. EASINGTON is normally around the mark. Numbers: 2 – 8 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – ZU MANTUA WIN Race 4 PRINCE HAL has returned to racing in particularly good fashion. Has caught the eye at all runs this preparation and from the gate should get every chance to break through. SMALLAMOUNTOFMERIT is the logical danger and drawn the inside should get a soft run. RECAPITULATE is very consistent. Settles in the first four in running and always is in the finish. KING FOR LIFE could find the front and give them something to catch. Numbers: 3 – 7 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – PRINCE HAL WIN Race 5 LAST LEGACY has been a revelation this preparation for Robert Payton. Started in Kalgoorlie with a maiden win and has clocked up another 2 victories in Esperance. Only just rolled by Pirates Mistress last start who was dropping out of 68+ grade. MAJOR MAMBO (Lacka) is strong enough on his day and usually goes well fresh. SALVARA has hit form. MATTY’S CHOICE a mad one for novelties. Numbers: 6 – 2 – 7 – 10 Suggested Bet – LAST LEGACY WIN Race 6 KING’S AUTHORITY has not won a race in over 1000 days and since he was a 2-year-old on debut but this does look (yet) another wonderful opportunity for him to break through. Andrew Castle is riding well and he went close last start when only nabbed late by a class act in Sammy The Boss. NAZARETH was poor fresh but Pateman on always demands respect. FAIRTRUSIVE is better than the fresh effort. CLOAK AND DAGGER can improve quickly into a campaign. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – KING’S AUTHORITY WIN Race 7 MAGNIFORCE ran them into the ground fresh when a flurry of late money landed the prize. That race was sectionally the most impressive of the season to date at Esperance and Chris Graham’s last two metro winners (Transgressor and Catherine Wheel) were allowed to run in front. If he can cross it’s game on. MING XING looks the danger on paper with the beautiful draw to stalk. NICKLAUS has ability but does a fair few things wrong. INDIAN CHANT won his maiden well. Interesting to see if he can go on with it. Numbers: 2 – 9 – 1 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAGNIFORCE WIN Race 8 HEAVEN’S GATE took a few starts to get warm this preparation but is now fit and firing and the 2000 suits. From the gate he should be position just off the speed and looks hard to beat. SWIFT PLATINUM should find the front and can give cheek if allowed to stride. UNIVERSAL MAE could get under the guard. The metro form is strong and can run a race. BARRY’S RABBIT has a target race in 4 weeks. Expecting him to start to build into the preparation. Numbers: 4 – 1 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – HEAVEN’S GATE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,6,7 1,2 2,9 1,2,3,4,5,6 Market Market
