Scott Embry’s Friday Mount Barker Preview Posted on November 27, 2019November 27, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 ZETORIO gets another go after his extremely disappointing effort at Albany first-up when beaten over 10L. This race is as weak as he has seen in his life and he could bounce back without surprising. FULZIP is racing well and loves it at Barker. TIME TO HUNT really hit a wall last campaign. He is not known as an 1100m horse but if he turns up he could trot in. REAL TARGET resuming falls into a nice race. Numbers: 1 – 5 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – ZETORIO WIN Race 2 SO GREAT will be winning this if he can just reproduce his first-up effort. This is a much weaker race than he met first-up behind War Class and the 1800 is more suitable than the 1450 of that race. Could be a break out preparation and this is a good launching pad. Short but sweet. VINO BENETEAU leads and can run a cheeky race. TAKE ME HOME HONEY is a maiden but should pinch one this prep. POWDERBELLE continues to go around short for a filly who hasn’t shown a whole lot so far. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 5 – 3 Suggested Bet – SO GREAT WIN Race 3 FOXY PRINCESS was something impressive last start. First-up effort lobbed out the back at Barker and finished off well into forth. Elevated even further second-up to win in second gear. Can turn the tables on Willow River. WILLOW RIVER won well over the 1000 first-up and should give another big sight. SWANKY LASS looks a 1000m, 1100m type. Could paddle late. TAMPERING FALLS racing well but lumps a big weight. Numbers: 5 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – FOXY PRINCESS WIN Race 4 LOKI has always shown more than enough ability to win a maiden. Trial at Barker was strong, first-up effort at Albany was super when finishing fourth to Snittitude, Censure and Too Fat Too Slow. This maiden is 5L weaker than that and he should break through. MISS PINS went well fresh and looks like improving as the distances stretch. MISS CIRCLEWORK can improve. PIECE D’RESISTANCE next best. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 8 – 4 Suggested Bet – LOKI WIN Race 5 SAUVEGARDE lead them up in a midweeker over 1000 first-up when run down by Downforce (subsequent Saturday winner) and Jenja who had come out of a 3yo Classic. That form is super for a Barker maiden and he was nominated for Saturday. MY BLUEBOY was parked deep the trip last start and looks likely to sit deep again. MY NAME’S STAR finished off well last start. HAIL CAESAR could jump triple figures, keep him in mind for minors. Numbers: 10 – 1 – 11 – 2 Suggested Bet – SAUVEGARDE WIN Race 6 RUN LIAM RUN has only been to Mt Barker once in his 30 start career and that was second-up last campaign in a 70+ after being beaten 3L first-up at Albany. This campaign is identical on paper and he draws a gate here. Class animal, he’ll take a stack of beating. ABU DHABI should be kept safe. Leeson’s stable on fire and he can lead them up. SIR SNUGALOT draws to enjoy the run of the race. SENSO is well suited in this grade and never runs a bad race. Numbers: 1 – 7 – 6 – 4 Suggested Bet – RUN LIAM RUN WIN Race 7 UPTOWN FUNK is admittedly hard to catch but on her day has more than enough ability to win this or even a 70+ race. Jumps off the page when you see 70+ back to 56+ and she looks a big chance. LITTLE PUNGA is brave and was taken on a long way from home at Albany. If he gets any sort of breather he’ll go very close. FOXY LAD has returned to racing in good form. OUR BUDDY BOY is well placed back into 56+ grade. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – UPTOWN FUNK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3 1,2,5,10,11 1,4,6,7 8,9 Market Market
