Scott Embry’s Sunday York Preview Posted on November 8, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 CANDIJAY hadn’t shown a whole lot at trials until her most recent when finishing a narrowly beaten second to promising filly Chatter Session at Lark Hill in a fairly slick 56.95. From the inside gate she should give a sight on debut. WILLHEGO WEST joins a new yard and the fourth three starts back beaten 4L Amelia’s Contraire and My Fair Balentine reads well. A STEAMY AFFAIR will likely need further but trialed alright. COLLOSAL STORM can improve off the debut effort. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – CANDIJAY WIN Race 2 RIDING HOOD FAME has the blinkers added and some of the recent efforts have been strong enough to win this moderate maiden. Drops back sharply in distance but should settle over the speed and go close. SHEERNESS was the target of strong support first-up but had no luck at all in running. VICTORY CITY was disappointing on debut at Geraldton. Likely to attempt to lead again. FAIRER AMERICA was very green on debut. Numbers: 6 – 10 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – RIDING HOOD FAME WIN Race 3 FINAL CHILL went well on debut and looks better suited up in trip. Was repeatedly chopped out in the run and can give this a shake at a price. Pateman jumping off his wife’s horse to ride could be a lead (or he could have finally got the sack). PRIZED NEMESIS looked on paper to have finally found his race last weekend but was unsuccessful when beaten a narrow margin and copping a big bump in the shadows of the post. Amazingly lobs another winnable race here. POWDERBELLE has been a shade disappointing of recent times but the saddle did slip in running twice in his last three outings. SNEAKY DEVIL next best. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 5 Suggested Bet – FINAL CHILL EACHWAY Race 4 MINIKA should be winning this race. Showed promise in her early 3 year old days and will always be in the shadow of her top notch sister Misty Metal but this race is the weakest she has seen since her debut win. ROCKER CHICK can do an abundance of things wrong in the run but has a motor. TRADE PRIZE was reasonable first-up. LICABULL got beaten at Collie but is not impossible at cricket score odds. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – MINIKA WIN Race 5 VALIDATION vs OVERTHRONE vs MISS ELLMYA should be an intriguing contest. VALIDATION reunites with Jade McNaught and drops in grade after having no luck last start. Can lead or box seat from the gate and go far better. MISS ELLMYA is the winner of two from 4 and trialed really well at Lark Hill for her return to the races. OVERTHRONE won well at this track two starts back and then was stiff to run into Devoted Star in a C1 last start. PASAJERO next best. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 5 – 2 Suggested Bet – VALIDATION WIN Race 6 JENABEL gets a 3kg weight swing on All Square from their last start encounter and draws a gate to sit in the box seat. She is normally ultra consistent once she gets to third up in a campaign and should be ready to peak. Can definitely turn the tables. ALL SQUARE is low flying and will give them all something to catch. STOCKYARD GOSSIP has a powerful turn of foot on her day, SHOUHOU normally races well at the tighter, awkward tracks and Jason Whiting rides her particularly well. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 2 – 8 Suggested Bet – JENABEL WIN Race 7 FETCH MORE AMMO didn’t beat a horse home last start, beaten 6L after tramping wide throughout. Is a C5 back to a 46+ and the previous start win at York was strong. Really good placement on paper and this is the weakest race she is likely to see for a while. SHERU joins a new stable after failing to fire a shot for Gary Hall Senior. Recent trial was fairly good. REACTION has been knocking on the door for 15 starts but just lacks a killer blow. BLACK SMUGGLER races well at York. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 10 – 9 Suggested Bet – FETCH MORE AMMO WIN Race 8 NO SAY IN IT, WITNESS IN COURT, BROTHER’S KEEPER and PUSH TO PASS are four of the very few horses in the race who are actually inside the Handicap conditions. BROTHER’S KEEPER is one from one at York and can settle close handy to the speed. He has been lumping big weights in town since his return this prep and looks well placed to score. NO SAY IN IT is the class runner and a 76+ winner only four starts ago. On the fresh side he’ll fly late. WITNESS IN COURT has been in form all campaign and draws perfectly. PUSH TO PASS looks just about ready and was set alight mid race at his most recent. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 2 – 6 Suggested Bet – NO SAY IN IT Race 9 ARMED AND READY races well at York while he can be hard to catch and is drawn wide he looks the best way home in a tough finish. The 1900 looks about his perfect trip and has had little luck in his recent races. TAKE IT LIKE A MAN has been back to trials since his last start and he has been well supported of recent times. CAPTAIN JACK has only won once from 44 outings but is racing well. PIERONOVA was never in the race at his most recent and has shades added for the first time. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 8 – 5 Suggested Bet – ARMED AND READY WIN Quad (Race 6 – 9) 2,4,5,7,8,9 2 1,2,36,9,10,11 2,3,5,6,8 Market Market
