Scott Embry’s Sunday Carnarvon Preview Posted on August 30, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 DIAMONDS FOR ALL has had a lot of starts but this is yet another winnable assignment. Leads them and takes running down. Two starts ago looked the winner everywhere but the post. MASCHERANO would be every chance if the stable elect to back up from Thursdays brave effort at Northam. CARSON DRIVE improves up in trip. DESIGNATED DRINKER debuts off the back of two reasonable enough trials to give this a shake. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – DIAMONDS FOR ALL WIN Race 2 SALTY comes down from a Broome campaign where he competed strongly all preparation. Some of the horses in his recent form references are super: Jelani Express, Desert Thorn and Song of Vincent. Hard to beat here. STRIDE OUT has been excellent at his past three. Clearly loves Carnarvon and takes serious beating. Deserving favourite. CLEVE’S WATCHING put in two good runs first-up and second-up. MYBAK not that well suited back in trip but racing well. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 Suggested Bet – SALTY WIN Race 3 MAGNATION found the front when the shades went on and that was the last they saw of him last start. From the inside gate should be able to muster through and lead them a merry dance. FLASH OF THUNDER mixed his form late in the prep but if he gets across he’ll be in the mix. DAM LUCKY won well last start and should get a nice run from the gate. PLANET FLOWER the blow out. Numbers: 1 – 2 – 4 – 8 Suggested Bet – MAGNATION WIN Race 4 GRECO should lead them here and from there is hard to run down. Won well three starts ago in a fast run 1800 at Roebourne and then nothing went right in the Port Hedland Cup. Back in trip from the Junction Cup he is worth consideration. SWEET TALKIN’ is absolutely low flying for an inform stable and an in form jock. Hard to beat again. FERNGROVE has been building towards a peak performance all preparation in Broome and this is a sharp drop in grade. Goes well at Carnarvon, keep safe. BAI BAI is racing particularly well but this is tougher. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 1 – 9 Suggested Bet – GRECO WIN Race 5 WELL SPOKEN MAN and SENSE OF DENIAL come from very similar form lines up in Broome and both look to be the two to beat in this 1000m dash. WELL SPOKEN MAN was beaten out of sight in the Broome Sprint but form prior was strong. He is a 1000m horse and should go close. SENSE OF DENIAL draws better and won well two starts ago. The danger. NEWMARRACARRA is the one the visiting Broome horses all have to catch. Jumps and runs. COULHOUN is up in grade but won well at his most recent. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 9 – 5 Suggested Bet – WELL SPOKEN MAN EACHWAY Race 6 SWIFT PLATINUM comes off a Broome Cup win and drops back to 1700 here. Should work his way to the front and even though he has to lump a big 62.5lg he still looks mighty hard to run down. TOM ALMIGHTY has really hit form and his last five efforts are all good enough to win this. HONORFIC won well last start and looks to be improving on the surface rapidly. CORPORATE LARRIKIN should get a lovely tow into the race on the heels of Swift Platinum. Numbers: 2 – 3 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – SWIFT PLATINUM WIN Race 7 MAJORA’S MASK only put in one bad run in Broome when beaten 50L but other than that was undefeated and looked stylish and progressive in all of those victories. First start in Carnarvon which is a different style of racing and surface but he should be right in the mix. SHIBUYA CROSSING ran some brave races at Broome this season. Looks the logical danger. ESPRESSO LASS is the best of the locals but draws poorly. O’REILLY’S CRUMPET is one to keep in mind from a quaddie and exotics perspective. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 7 Suggested Bet – MAJORA’S MASK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 1,2,3 2,3,5,8,9 2,3,5 1,2,4,7 Market Market
