Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on May 17, 2019 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 MAJOR MARTINI (6) was impressive in winning a heat and final of the $100,00 Sales Classic and then ran on strongly in a quick last quarter when 3rd to JAXON JONES (3) at Bunbury. He should be fitter for that effort and can overcome the wide draw. POWER AND GRACE (5) has won his two starts in style and looks to have plenty of ability. MANNING (2) ran 2nd in the Sales Classic and then couldn’t make up ground from the rear last start but is drawn nicely here. JAXON JONES (3) led throughout to beat a similar field and must be considered. Tips: 6 5 2 3 Suggested Bet: MAJOR MARTINI (6) to win. Race 2 MATHEW JAMES (3) has impressed in winning his last three on end and looks a great chance to bring up his fourth consecutive victory from this draw. SANGUE REALE (7) faced the breeze when a solid 3rd to the favourite two starts back and looks the main danger. CHEER THE MAJOR (1) is drawn to get a lovely run in transit and looks a great place chance. MASTER CARIBBEAN (2) showed considerable improvement when a Pinjarra winner on Monday but goes up in class tonight. Tips: 3 7 1 2 Suggested Bet: MATHEW JAMES (3) to win. Race 3 THE WAR NURSE (5) won four on end before leading and giving a great sight when 3rd in the WASBA Stakes last week. This looks an easier assignment and she should prove hard to beat. KITURA (1) has been placed at her last two and looks perfectly placed from the pole. BEAUDIENE BEACH BABE (3) was a close 2nd in the Races For Roses and should play a part from this draw. PUREST SILK (10) was a good last-start winner and should enjoy a nice trip on the pegs here. Tips: 5 1 3 10 Suggested Bet: THE WAR NURSE (5) to win. Race 4 HY LEEXCITING (1) has been working into form and put it all together when a strong winner here on Tuesday after doing all of the work. He goes up in class for this assignment but should give a great sight from the pole. COTT BEACH (10) finished just behind the placegetters in the WASBA Stakes last week and will be hard to hold out if she has any luck. MAJOR POCKET (5) was enormous when 2nd in 1.53.2 on Tuesday and must be considered. MISTER BUSHIDO (11) was a solid all-the-way winner last week but goes to the back line. Tips: 1 10 5 11 Suggested Bet: HY LEEXCITING (1) to win. Race 5 DOMINATE THE DOJO (1) struggles to find the line but he did lead throughout over this distance five starts back. He should get a comfortable lead early and could do enough to hold on. OUR RHYTHM N BLUES (5) is likely to press forward to the breeze and should be right in the finish. BLACK JACK ZAC (4) is in career-best form and can play a part if he can slot into a handy position. ROCKNROLL BABY (10) is drawn to get a lovely run on the pegs and can be placed. Tips: 1 5 4 10 Suggested Bet: DOMINATE THE DOJO (1) to win. Race 6 CAVIAR STAR (11) had no luck whatsoever last week but still ran on extremely well to finish 2nd to Campora and can overcome the backline draw tonight. BETTOR BE LIVELY (3) was unexpectedly crossed at the start when a beaten favourite at his last start but can work his way to the front and give them something to catch tonight. SPEED MAN (8) has had no luck at his past two starts and should be a big improver tonight. LIVURA (12) broke through against moderate opposition last start and can be placed at odds. Tips: 11 3 8 12 Suggested Bet: CAVIAR STAR (11) to win. Race 7 MISTER SPOT (1) has won two of his last four starts and was a solid effort when beaten by Ruling Gold at his last start. He meets a hot field tonight but has the draw to be right in the finish at each way odds. GOLDEN STATE (9) is a classy customer who won three of his last four starts before a spell but has drawn wide for his return. MIGHTY SANTANA (4) was a narrow but impressive winner over Warfare at his last start and looks a major player. VINCENZO PERUGGIA (8) faced the breeze when 4th in a stronger field here last week. Tips: 1 9 4 8 Suggested Bet: MISTER SPOT (1) each way. Race 8 KING OF SWING (4) was a dominant 1.54.5 winner here last week and is the one to beat again after drawing inside his main rivals. SAYING GRACE (5) finished just behind the placegetters in both the Fremantle And WA Pacing Cups and can make his presence felt first up. IM SOXY (8) is racing extremely consistently but the wide draw makes it tough. SOHO WONDER (6) was placed at big odds last week in a similar field and can be in the money again with the right trip. Tips: 4 5 8 6 Suggested Bet: KING OF SWING (4) to win. Race 9 THEO AVIATOR (4) won two on end in easier company before facing the breeze when a solid 4th behind Franco Edward. He is drawn inside his main rivals tonight and should give a great sight. GEE JAY KAY (7) has won two of his last three starts and looks a major player here. ITS ROCK AND ROLL (8) finished just in front of THEO AVIATOR (4) last start and has the strength to overcome the wide draw. PATRICKTHEPIRANHA (9) doesn’t appear to be racing at his top but is too good to overlook. Tips: 4 7 8 9 Suggested Bet: THEO AVIATOR (4) to win. Race 10 MAD ROBBER (1) has a good Victorian record and looks hard to beat at his first-up assignment for the Hall camp after a 1.57.3 Byford trial win over Galante. LUIS ALBERTO (3) is racing extremely consistently and will appreciate the drop in class tonight. AS HAPPY AS LARRY (4) hasn’t had much luck at his past two starts and looks the other winning chance. CRACKA STAR (10) was an upset winner here last week and is drawn to get a lovely run again. Tips: 1 3 4 10 Suggested Bet: MAD ROBBER (1) to win. Market Market
