Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on April 2, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 SILKINIZE comes out running from a wide draw and will look to cross. If he finds the fence he will be there a long way. Recent trial was impressive and after multiple early scratchings he looks worth being on. CAMBIST was a really good trial and then was scratched from Saturday to be saved for this. Draws the inside which could be the place to be. CAPTAIN DENISOV has a fairly typical Lou Luciani preparation under the belt and can run a race. CONQUERED ZONE next best. Numbers: 6 – 9 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – SILKINIZE WIN Race 2 CITY CIRCLE has gone to a new level at her last two runs. First-up got beaten comfortably by Bedouine Belle but since has won effortlessly down the straight and then was well backed when hitting the line powerfully behind Deacalda and Excise Free. That form is brilliant and can win this. BEDOUINE BELLE was well supported throughout betting in a far tougher Saturday race than what this is. Has to be a big danger. UNIBRO and SMART TYCOON both have ability but tough draws. Numbers: 8 – 3 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – CITY CIRCLE WIN Race 3 LANGLEY is likely to become the target of strong support. Dropping back in trip, drawn the fence, Pike on and coming out of a race where the sectionals are off the charts. Should get every chance and be hard to hold out. MURRAY THE BULLDOG has found himself a new little niche since stepping out in distance. This is not a deep C3 and with the rail at 11m there is every chance the leaders will skip away. If McNaught lets him roll along he’ll take catching. BURNING MAGIC has run three good races since joining Gav Foster. HOT STYLE can measure up in town. Numbers: 6 – 3 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – LANGLEY WIN Race 4 DOC FRIAR looked a different horse getting out to a staying trip. Looks like settling midfield and should be given every opportunity. Looks like a Durrant staying type who can continue on through the grades. QUEEN KARNILLA an improver up to a trip. BILL’S O’REILLY found traffic last start but his previous couple were good enough. EYE ART looks like the trip will be no worries. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – DOC FRIAR WIN Race 5 RECOILED is very well placed in this grade and after the claim of Jade McNaught looks very hard to beat. He can be a bit of a handful as the gates open but if McNaught can get him out on equal terms then should be right behind the speed and must go close. TIME TO TRADE is an exciting type because he simply has so much speed. Likely suited over a little further where he can get them chasing but still takes serious running down. MY LAINA will get off the speed and be saved for one final run at them but her recent Saturday form is stronger than anything in this field. ARAFURA draws soft and is in form. Numbers: 4 – 7 – 9 – 3 Suggested Bet – RECOILED EACHWAY Race 6 INFLATION is a nice 3 year old returning to the races who looks capable of winning stronger races than this. On debut was stiff to run into subsequent JC Roberts winner Platoon and then won impressively at his next start, bolting in. Was well supported when things didn’t go his way at start three and then was tipped out. Hard to beat here. HARD OF HEART has contested almost exclusively Saturday races his entire career. First-up for a new stable gets another chance. DAISHIO back in grade after being thrown in the deep end last start. PATRISTIC backing up off 7 days after a strong return to the races rounds out the four. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 5 – 4 Suggested Bet – INFLATION WIN Race 7 GEIGER GEM had been dropping ratings points all campaign until last start and now looks extremely well placed by an astute yard. If McNaught can get him across from the wide draw to sit in the breeze he will give backers a great sight. Once he finds form is normally ultra consistent and reliable. NOT AGAIN KEN is impossible to follow. The day you forget him is the day he’ll bob up. First-up run in a Saturday race behind Bella’s Idol sees him win. Repeat of last start effort sees him last. SUPERIOR SMILE draws a gate to sit closer to the speed. EVERYMILE A MEMORY is better than what she showed first-up. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – GEIGER GEM EACHWAY Race 8 ROCKAFELLA is the newest Gangemi acquisition to debut in WA and from his recent trial behind emphatic Saturday winner Special Reward you can expect he will be winning a few in the west. Drawn awkwardly but a nice race for him. ALTA SULL’AMORE backs up off 4 days, drops in grade, has an in form Chris Parnham engaged and the form from Saturday around Special Reward, Diablerie, Molten and Little Fish looks super for this. BEL MY PAGO won well first-up and should only improve. SIGIL is Sigil. He’ll run his usual honest race. If Chloe Azzopardi gets him home then she’s in for a big return to race riding. Numbers: 3 – 6 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – ROCKAFELLA EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,3,4,7,9 1,3,5 1,2,3,8,10 1,3,6,7,9 Market Market
