Scott Embry’s Friday Esperance Preview Posted on February 14, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 RHINO BUSTER is on the quick back up from a gallant effort in the Albany Cup and looks the winner. Expect him to lead at a steady tempo and put them away on the road to the Esperance Cup. BARRY’S RABBIT tasted defeat for the first time in a month but only a dent to the Ego of the Greyflash who will bounce back. THIDWICK THE MOOSE is yet to fully prove himself over the staying journeys. BLACKBEEL has a run under his belt for Brett Matthews now and can improve. Numbers: 1 – 3 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – RHINO BUSTER WIN Race 2 BADGE OF COURAGE will be the second odds on favorite on the card but again looks like only bad luck can stop him. The step up to 1200m and a senior rider back on-board ticks boxes and he is enjoying a breakout preparation. BELLS TOWER should find the front and run them along but could be paddling close to the post. WHERE’S WALLY has undeniable talent but he needs to turn up race day. He is hiding and Josh Brown is yet to locate his best. PENALTY POINT hasn’t been at her best for a while but this race lacks depth. Numbers: 1 – 4 – 2 – 3 Suggested Bet – BADGE OF COURAGE WIN Race 3 JACK’S FROST had a number of excuses when finding more trouble than Harley Bennell’s left calf pre-race. His previous efforts were encouraging and he is only improving with racing. DOLCITY looked the winner when swamped late by the up and coming Roughan-star Whisperit. Will be winning a race before seasons end. DANCE WEST has been a favorite backer’s worst nightmare and her loyal followers could be excused for jumping off. LAST LEGACY is another addition to the Freddo Brown yard and looks to have enough natural ability. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 8 Suggested Bet – JACK’S FROST WIN Race 4 PLANET FEVER did what not many horses can do winning first start out of maiden grade. That is generally a sign to keep following them and we know once Brett Matthews runners find form, they hold it #happyhunting connections. DAZZLING POET is shooting for 3 in a row, on the back of 2 effortless victories for Neil Dellar. Jockey Alan Kennedy will look to spear across from the outside gate. SCOTTY TOO HOTTY is starting to put it all together. Each-way if you like him. CLOAK AND DAGGER gets a beautiful tow into the straight. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – PLANET FEVER WIN Race 5 PATIENCE PHILLIPS is a great addition to local trainer Tracy Frizzel’s stable. Was backed like the winner first up when winning stylishly at this track then taken to town for much tougher assignments where he was far from disgraced. He can go on with it. WHISPERIT delivered for slightly bullish connections when breaking his maiden status. That was an effort of a horse going places for an astute yard. HUMANITY was very disappointing first run back for Mr Peter Fernie but he is a classy animal. ARCH TYCOON can bob up at big prices and nearly did just that last start. Numbers: 7 – 9 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – PATIENCE PHILLIPS WIN Race 6 DANCY MINDY DANCE is another from the Matthews yard who has found a purple patch of form. Is unknown at the mile but the way she has been running on suggests it will hold no fears. GRAND CADEAU was backed like the winner before becoming loose and subsequently withdrawn last week. SOUTHERN WARRIOR chalked up a much-deserved win at his first go at the mile after a consistent campaign. RUSSIAN RIVER should be almost ready and connections fly Percy down. Numbers: 9 – 2 – 4 – 1 Suggested Bet – DANCE MINDY DANCE WIN Race 7 KEEPER MEAN was forced to sustain and long, wide run over the mile and still hit the line gamely. Shouldn’t encounter those problems today from the low draw and if Emma Stent gets the splits when she needs them he can bring up his second career win. PRINCE HAL has been thereabouts all preparation without breaking through. You can expect another honest effort. THISORTHAT recaptured some form from earlier in his career and is another who is well suited. UNDER THE SOMBRERO is a racing out of his class but this isn’t the worst option. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – KEEPER MEAN WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,5,6 1,2,7,9 1,2,4,9 3,4 Market Market
