Scott Embry’s Wednesday Ascot Preview Posted on January 29, 2019 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MINIKA is likely to fire straight through to the lead and from there she is the one they’ll have to run down. Last start may have shown that she is best ridden like her sister with high cruising speed. MY LADY FAIR was gifted the race last Wednesday when allowed to stroll to the top. This race has similar depth and she’ll be hard to beat again. SPEEDY MISS was a nice run first-up and will be winning soon. LIGHT MY DAY is a real tryer and will chase hard. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 7 – 1 Suggested Bet – MINIKA WIN Race 2 DRIVIN’ ME WILD was being held up behind horses as the speed went on at the 600m last start in Saturday grade. This race has 7 legitimate winning chances and 0 super stars. He could bob up and win again. BOOMNBUST is arguably the safest way to play. He finds the front and is the one to run down. HIGH ENERGY was a reasonable effort when leading last start. MODERN NEWS should appreciate the small field. Numbers: 4 – 2 – 5 – 7 Suggested Bet – DRIVIN’ ME WILD WIN Race 3 TYCOON LEGEND has been eye catching in far tougher races than this his last three. Is a 19 start C1 animal but won’t get a better opportunity than this to salute. Pike on means the price is going to be very short but he looks the winner. DOUBLE PRO was only a fair trial and his 3 year old form is strong enough to run a race. FA’LION MACHINE made good ground on a track suited to leaders fresh. SECONDA VITA could hit the line hard late off a soft run. Numbers: 3 – 2 – 4 – 6 Suggested Bet – TYCOON LEGEND WIN Race 4 DEEP COVER trialed well, ran well first-up down the 1000m straight and from the gate should be right behind the speed. On form goes close here. SLIK SAM is a class dropper and a noted back-marker. Will fly late. AKVAVIT is a bit of a ‘non-winner’ having run 9 minors from 10 outings but again draws perfectly in gate 1 and enjoys the run of the race. TOGETHER WE DREAM fresh and back in trip would take catching if finding the fence. Numbers: 2 – 7 – 4 – 5 Suggested Bet – DEEP COVER WIN Race 5 ORIENTAL ROSE drops out of a Group 3 La Trice into a Class 1 and after the claim for an in-form apprentice carries the same weight. She is a query at the trip but should get a lovely run midfield with cover and can prove too ‘classy’. RAYARNIE should find the front and Jason Brown will burn far less petrol than last start. GOLDEN BONNEY was strong last start in the same race and looks like making a stayer. HOODLUM THUNDER is quirky to say the least. Hard horse to follow. Numbers: 3 – 1 – 8 – 2 Suggested Bet – ORIENTAL ROSE WIN Race 6 EBONY MAGI is a nice horse in the making. The gate means that this will again be a tough assignment but if the swoopers are winding up deep on the track and flashing late then this is one who can win. ADORMENT is also likely to concede the leaders a head start and was stiff not to go closer last start when held up on the fence. AY TEE EMM ran a nice race when leading last start. ENSIGN PULVER next best. Numbers: 5 – 12 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – EBONY MAGI WIN Race 7 BEAT THE BELL was a Class 3 winner two starts back and then a ripper in a strong form race behind Sally’s Realm. This is a nice race for her. CREATIVE HEO is a 3 year old taking on the older horses and while he only won a maiden last start it was more the way he ran away from them late that created the biggest impression. FINGERMARK sits forwards of midfield with cover and is always there abouts. EXPRESS FLIRT off 7 days should get a nice run leader’s back. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 9 – 2 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BELL WIN Race 8 PARADISE SQUARE has been in good form all preparation and keeps on proving to connections he deserves to be in town and not down in Esperance. This is another winnable race for him and he probably heads towards a Saturday Graduation after. SATURIA burnt punters on a number of occasions last preparation, she’s a consistent little mare. KEEPER’S TALE can improve back in trip and ridden cold. AL DI LA only comes from a Class 1 but he bolted in. Numbers: 4 – 9 – 6 – 11 Suggested Bet – PARADISE SQUARE WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 1,2,3,8 5,12 4,8 3,4,6,9,11 Market Market
