Scott Embry’s Saturday Ascot Preview Posted on November 1, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 TINSNIP would have nailed Prim and Proper last start with one more stride. This time out gets an extra 100m and a 2kg weight swing. Looks set to turn the tables. PRIM AND PROPER was a tough ride for Jason Whiting last start laying inwards throughout. If she can straighten up she’ll be there again. NOBEL IMPACT should improve for the outing and may be ridden cold here. KISSEDBYFRIAR was not knocked around in either trial but ran well. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 4 – 3 Suggested Bet – TINSNIP WIN Race 2 MAGIC PLANET finished right on the heels of some of WA’s better 3 year old sprinters last start in the Bunbury Classic and was eased out of it in the final stages. If Stone can hold a spot in running he has to be a chance. FESTIVAL MISS ran into a nice one first-up and is the one to beat. DEACALDA won a maiden effortlessly on debut and the horses who ran second, third and fifth won at their next start. LORD GREYSTOKE was woken up at trials on Monday and looked good. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MAGIC PLANET EACHWAY Race 3 THE CELT drops back to 1200m, reunites with Alan Kennedy and draws a gate to sit right behind a very slow speed. He gets his chance to bounce back in this grade. MASQUERADE will not get a better chance to break back into the winner’s enclosure. The biggest concern is the lack of speed in the race for him. MRS BROWN’S BOY should amble straight to the front. OLIVER’S TRAVELS was woeful in two runs earlier this preparation. Has X-Factor when right. Numbers: 2 – 4 – 5 – 1 Suggested Bet – THE CELT EACHWAY Race 4 PEARLS AND PRAWNS has a real imposing presence about her. Big, strong mare who could not have been more impressive at trials. Has the gate speed to position right over the leaders and will be in front of her main rival. SALLY’S REALM was held up at crucial stages first-up and from gate 2 expect Pike to stalk the favourite the entire way. PINBALL WIZARD gets blinkers first time, backs up off 7 days first time and drops in grade. SPILLINOVA trialed well for his return and should end up in the breeze. Numbers: 7 – 13 – 1 – 5 Suggested Bet – PEARLS AND PRAWNS WIN Race 5 ROYAL COMMAND looks to have found his race. Hasn’t won for a fair while but some of his runs have been excellent including first-up when he hit the line hard in a strongly run race. Has no excuse here and looks the one. RESISTANCE trialed well for his return and should box seat. FORSEEN gets his first chance all campaign to lead without challenge and control the tempo. He is not impossible at a big price. PLATOON ran into arguably WA’s best 3 year old last weekend but is drawn to do it tough. Numbers: 5 – 3 – 10 – 11 Suggested Bet – ROYAL COMMAND WIN Race 6 GALAXY STAR wins this and books her ticket to the Group 1 Railway Stakes. Lost no admirers first-up when she would have beaten a genuine top liner in Man Booker with another stride. Blinkers on first time, should zap them. ACTION looks the only possible danger on paper and will keep on improving into the preparation, has come back very well. RED ORA and IHTSAHYMN can both run cheeky races from soft draws. Numbers: 3 – 5 – 2 – 4 Suggested Bet – GALAXY STAR WIN Race 7 DAINTY TESS is yet again clearly the one to beat at the weights. Really suited in this field by the WFA conditions and she only needs to reproduce her exceptional first-up run to notch another Group victory. AGENT PIPPA brings some intrigue into the race. Watch Randy Tan let her run with only 51.5kg. SARACINO trialed like a super star. If he can recapture his best race form he is right in this. CELEBRITY DREAM is poorly in at the weights against a classy line-up but was charging first-up. Numbers: 7 – 10 – 5 – 9 Suggested Bet – DAINTY TESS WIN Race 8 RAGAZZO D’ORO was never in the race first-up after trialing well. Second-up he was untested to the line and now draws a gate third-up and drops to the minimum. He can run a big race here, especially if he rolls forwards. BOLLYWOOD BLITZ gets into his most suitable race of the preparation and comes out of a track record breaking Northam Cup. ROCKON TOMMY has won two well below average speed mile races. This again looks like he should get things his own way. A KNIGHT OF PRO can improve with regular senior rider back aboard. Numbers: 11 – 1 – 2 – 5 Suggested Bet – RAGAZZO D’ORO EACHWAY Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 5 3 5,7,10 1,2,5,10,11 Market Market
