Scott Embry’s Thursday Bunbury Preview Posted on October 31, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 COCKY DODD debuts off the back of an effortless trial win at Lark Hill. This race looks to lack a deal of speed and Randy Tan should be able to find the front or at worst sit in the breeze. Can make a winning debut. EUPHONIOUS was scratched from a winnable race Wednesday to be saved for this. First-up run was strong off the back of two good trials. READ THE RIOT act either leads or sits behind and can run a race. RAGING ROCKET was working home nicely in his recent trial. Numbers: 4 – 8 – 3 – 6 Suggested Bet – COCKY DODD WIN Race 2 STAFFORD’S LAD has been beaten out of sight at both runs this preparation but gets out to a more suitable distance and this is arguably the softest race of his career to date. He could lead them up here and take some running down. CASLAVSKA was beaten 16L last start but likely opens favourite. Put a line through that and she’s the one to beat. TRIPLE EXPRESS hit the line hard and looks an Autier horse. LANGLEY is yet to show much in WA but best of the rest. Numbers: 3 – 4 – 7 – 2 Suggested Bet – STAFFORD’S LAD WIN Race 3 FIND THE GAP was left in an awkward position first-up when the leaders were off and gone and he was still being held up. Hit the line well in the last 50m and with blinkers on and an inside draw looks the leader. REGAL COUNSEL looks like the only danger on paper. Excellent 2 year old race form and recent trial was strong. JUS TALKEN trialed reasonably for his return to the races. HEAVENLY DUST was a nice trial at her most recent. Numbers: 2 – 6 – 3 – 10 Suggested Bet – FIND THE GAP WIN Race 4 FRED DAG trialed well for his debut and then made steady ground against some very nice maiden types. Think there will be a few winners from that form race and he can improve again here. HIGHEST REGARD looks likely to lead them up and at his most recent really stretched out nicely, hard to run down. GREAT CHARADE should appreciate the step up in trip but has been a shade disappointing so far this prep. GOLDEN ARCHES has X-factor but does a lot wrong. Numbers: 8 – 10 – 6 – 3 Suggested Bet – FRED DAG EACHWAY Race 5 HABARI will open a price and looks like a stayer in the making. Nice recent 1450m trial and race form last preparation was good enough to figure in a tough race. MODERN NEWS was jumping out of the ground late last start. Inside draw makes it interesting to see where she settles in running. ORABREEZE has always promised to win one and this is very evenly graded. BARBIE WILL DO has been below average but maybe shades improve her. Numbers: 10 – 6 – 2 – 9 Suggested Bet – HABARI EACHWAY Race 6 BEAT THE BELL won on debut down the middle of the Pinjarra straight and then went straight into a Saturday race where she ran into boom filly Fabergino. Far from disgraced and on that form she’s hard to beat here. ADAMUS loomed like the winner last start but may be better suited back in trip. TOGETHER WE DREAM destroyed moderate maiden opposition last start and should lead them up. FUTURIST ran three nice races in his first WA campaign and should have no excuse drawn the inside. Numbers: 5 – 4 – 6 – 2 Suggested Bet – BEAT THE BELL WIN Race 7 DECEPTION GAME looks like he will make it four on the bounce. Improving with every run and has really found form since they have ridden him a little colder. This race is even weaker than his last start assignment. ELIZA’S DREAM is better suited in this grade than his first-up assignment. MORE BXAAR is impossible to follow but there are races in him. BARRY’S RABBIT is probably looking for further but he’s going well Baz. Numbers: 2 – 1 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – DECEPTION GAME WIN Race 8 SNOW BLOSSOM is a Bunbury specialist and as long as there is no rain around this race looks her for the taking. Massive run first-up no trial against genuine Saturday type opposition. FAIR NAKITA is another who goes very well at the track and her trial suggest she’s ready fresh. PATAPUS finally draws a gate and is always around the mark. TRANSGRESSOR continues to close in on another victory. Numbers: 5 – 6 – 7 – 3 Suggested Bet – SNOW BLOSSOM WIN Quaddie (Race 5 – 8) 2,3,6,7,9,10,12 2,4,5,6 2 5,6,7 Market Market
