Trent Cooper’s Gloucester Park Preview Posted on September 27, 2018 | Posted by Trent Cooper Trent Cooper’s Preview Race 1 HASTALAVISTA (1) was impressive in winning his first four starts this campaign, three of those when leading. He then started from the backline and ran on strongly for 2nd and looks the one to beat from the pole. SOHO CHANGELING (2) has been placed at her past three starts in mares’ company and should be thereabouts from this draw. ROCK ME OVER (3) won four on end before finishing 3rd behind Mitch Maguire here last week and should be in the finish. SALEAHS COMMAND (6) would give a big sight if he can cross at the start. Tips: 1 2 3 6 Suggested Bet: HASTALAVISTA (1) to win. Race 2 SPEED MAN (3) has won three of his last four, with the defeat being a narrow one when outstayed by the talented Motu Premier. He is well drawn tonight and looks the one to beat. ROCKROLL LINCOLN (6) is a lightly raced but talented pacer who beat Our Jimmy Johnstone in the Narrogin Cup last campaign and will be hard to beat if near his top. SOHO CHELSEA (2) was a solid 1.55.8 all-the-way winner last week and would give a sight if he found the top. ARTHUR LOWE (1) led throughout here three starts back but this looks harder. Tips: 3 6 2 1 Suggested Bet: SPEED MAN (3) to win. Race 3 MITCH MAGUIRE (1) has won four of his five starts this campaign and should be adding to that tally from this draw tonight. EXTREME PRINCE (10) chased home Simba Bromac from this draw a few starts back and should get the same run here. BRAVO TEX (12) was a strong winner from the same barrier last week but will be trying to reel in a better one tonight. CRACKA STAR (11) is likely to be three back on the pegs and can be placed from that position. Tips: 1 10 12 11 Suggested Bet: MITCH MAGUIRE (1) to win. Race 4 CUT FOR AN ACE (8) has been chasing home the likes of Vampiro and Motu Premier and will appreciate the drop in class. He is drawn wide but can be driven positively in this field. ARGYLE RED (2) has been unplaced at his past six stars but is drawn better here and should be an improver. MISTER VERSACE (3) looks to be back to his best and should enjoy a nice run in transit. ANOTHER VINNIE (1) was placed behind Motu Premier from this draw two starts back and can be in the money again. Tips: 8 2 3 1 Suggested Bet: ARGYLE RED (2) each way. Race 5 KING OF SWING (1) won the WA Derby at his last start before a spell and has resumed with four consecutive victories in easier company. He jumps in at the deep end but has plenty of ability and the draw to handle the rise in class. VAMPIRO (6) has won three of his last four and has the gate speed to make things interesting early. MOTU PREMIER (5) bounced back to his best with a hard-working win over Speed Man and should be in the firing line throughout. THE BUCKET LIST (7) ran 2nd to Chicago Bull last week and will be running on strongly. Tips: 1 6 5 7 Suggested Bet: KING OF SWING (1) to win. Race 6 BETTER B CHEVRON (6) is racing extremely well and it was a blistering lead time that brought her undone last week. She is back to mares’ company and will be hard to beat if she can find the front tonight. MADAME MEILLAND (7) was a strong 2nd to Mister Versace last week and looks a major player here. TRICKY STYX (9) has been chasing home Chicago Bull recently and will appreciate a massive drop in class. ALFA QUEEN (5) is drawn inside the main chances and can play a part. Tips: 6 7 9 5 Suggested Bet: BETTER B CHEVRON (6) to win. Race 7 LINCS TIGER (5) has comfortably won his last three starts and is clearly the one to beat here despite the rise in class. KAPTAIN KENNY (2) has been racing consistently and is drawn to run a race. MIGHTY FLYING DEAL (4) got caught in the breeze when 4th to Mitch Maguire last week and is capable of causing an upset with the right run. CHIAROSCURO (12) had no luck last week and is ready to show his best but has a backline draw to overcome. Tips: 5 2 4 12 Suggested Bet: LINCS TIGER (5) to win. Race 8 TUAS DELIGHT (4) has a losing sequence of 13 but was a solid 2nd to Bright Diamond on Tuesday and gets his chance in this moderate affair. SMACKWATER JACK (12) was an impressive winner for a new stable last week and could go on with it now. ATTACK ON COMMAND (5) is racing well but is likely to be in the breeze again. SIGHTSEEING ANVIL (2) is nicely drawn and a win wouldn’t surprise. Tips: 4 12 5 2 Suggested Bet: TUAS DELIGHT (4) to win. Race 9 GLENFERRIE TYPHOON (7) has been brilliant in leading throughout from wide draws at his past five starts and he should be victorious in the same fashion tonight. REMINDER CALL (1) is used to chasing GLENFERRIE TYPHOON (7) and looks a great chance to run 2nd from the pole. LIGHTNING CALDER (9) has won his last two in good style but will find it harder tonight. TON TINE (3) would be right in this at his best but he is first-up from a break and his recent trial wasn’t convincing. Tips: 7 1 9 3 Suggested Bet: GLENFERRIE TYPHOON (7) to win. Race 10 VALBONNE (2) was a 1.55.4 winner last campaign and resumes here without a trial. He is the best drawn of the main chances and will be hard to beat if near his best. COUNTESS GRACE (4) is racing consistently and should enjoy a nice run in transit. TINSELTOWN (6) was an impressive winner at his only start and has scope for improvement. SANGUE REALE (5) has won two on end and must be considered again. Tips: 2 4 6 5 Suggested Bet: VALBONNE (2) to win. Market Market
