Scott Embry’s Thursday Pinjarra Preview Posted on July 25, 2018 | Posted by Scott Embry Scott Embry’s Preview Race 1 MYSTERY AFFAIR ended up nearly last and never got into the race last start. First-up was strong finishing well behind a nice type. Pike drawn 1, expect to sit box seat and there is a cutaway if required. HONGLONG is drawn awkwardly but has been impressive at both starts this preparation. TOTAL DISC and FROGGOTTEN both tend to race off the speed and will both be breaking their maidens in the near future. Numbers: 8 – 9 – 3 – 4 Suggested Bet – MYSTERY AFFAIR WIN Race 2 FAIR JOY trialed well for her return and boasts strong form from last preparation. Should go around at an each way quote and sits in a lovely spot in running. SCANDALOUS MISS was brave on debut. Worked across from a wide gate, sat in the breeze, hit the front and was entitled to be run down. CHIEF COCHISE trialed well and resumed impressively down the straight. Should be right in the firing line. COMPS takes on the older horses, she can measure up. Numbers: 1 – 8 – 2 – 12 Suggested Bet – FAIR JOY EACHWAY Race 3 ORIENTAL ROSE looks to have fallen into a nice first-up assignment. Ran two quiet races last preparation before hitting the line at her third career start. Trialed well and should end up in a lovely spot midfield. BROWSING has brilliant form from her first campaign but was bitterly disappointing last preparation, take on trust. REACTION comes from a strongly run race and should get a soft run. WILD FRONT could give some cheek if he somehow managed to cross. Numbers: 7 – 6 – 1 – 2 Suggested Bet – ORIENTAL ROSE WIN Race 4 TORTINA has put together two very impressive staying performances. Needs luck or a peach from the gate but if she reproduces her last start run can definitely win. SAN CRISPINO has had her fair share of chances but this is as good an opportunity as she will get. Lands into a prominent position and gets her chance. FLAT BICCY showed grit when shaking off the challengers over a mile. This sort of trip should suit. BRISTOL ROAD is fresh for a new yard and Glenn Smith may straighten him up a bit. Numbers: 9 – 8 – 3 – 1 Suggested Bet – TORTINA WIN Race 5 SALON DU CHEVAL really does look a big, strong, progressive stayer who can put wins together and go through the grades. Showed versatility to settle off the speed and run them down last week. MAGIC LAS VEGAS might find the front and from there Hill controls. TRUE DELIGHT has come back a different horse this preparation. Bred to get the trip and the form stacks up with Habesha running a drum in the Belmont Classic. DIPLOMAT EXPRESS usually holds form once he gets to this trip. Numbers: 4 – 10 – 8 – 9 Suggested Bet – SALON DU CHEVAL WIN Race 6 FIRE MAKER has form down the 1000m straight and is drawn the right side. Both of those facts make him very hard to beat. Eye catching up the fence at his most recent. CITICHANT is drawn the wrong side but has electric speed if utilized. Form has already held up from last start. INCREDIBLE HULK was a little below par first-up but is better than that and does go well down the straight. BALI KING PRAWN has no recent form but is a straight 5 winner resuming. Numbers: 1 – 6 – 3 – 9 Suggested Bet – FIRE MAKER WIN Race 7 PEPPIJACK put in a blinder at 100-1 first-up in Saturday grade and then was a strong winner over a nice filly at his subsequent start. Think he can put two together quickly and be above average. EVERYTHING’S SWEET was impressive late first-up, forced to do a mountain of work second-up and a solid effort third-up. Going well and drawn well. HUMANITY has teased us for 18 months. Has ability but hates winning. ALI BARBER comes across to race on top of the speed. Numbers: 6 – 11 – 4 – 2 Suggested Bet – PEPPIJACK WIN Quaddie (Race 4 – 7) 3,8,9 4,8,10 1,3,6 6,11 Market Market
